Top Headlines Eileen R. Ambrose, 78 She was the beloved wife of Raymond J. Ambrose. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late James and Martha (Bonin) Maguire. Prior to raising her family, she worked in the Clerk's office at the Pawtucket City Hall. Mrs. Ambrose was a loving and caring person who was devoted to her family. Besides her husband of over 50 years, she is survived by two sons, Mark C. Ambrose and his wife Mary Ann of Attleboro, Christopher M. Ambrose and his wife Michele of Smithfield. Grandmother of Shelly Dupuis and Vincent Arruda, great-grandmother of Brianna Kostka and Anthony Dupuis. She was also the sister of the late Helen Huber. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 8:45am from The Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home 331 Smith St., Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church 193 Walcott St., Pawtucket at 10 a.m. A graveside interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery. Michael Joseph Bastille, 56 Attleboro - Michael Joseph Bastille, 56, of Park Street, Attleboro, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the husband of Kathryn A. (Young) Bastille to whom he was married on February 4, 1976. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on March 27, 1952, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Eva (Bastille) Bastille. Raised and educated in Attleboro, Mr. Bastille was a 1970 graduate of Bishop Feehan High School. He later attended the Fisher College in recent years. Mr. Bastille was a lifelong resident of the City of Attleboro with the exception of a few years he resided in North Attleboro. He was a communicant of St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, Village of Attleboro Falls. Mr. Bastille was employed as a chemical manager in the plating industry until the onset of his illness. His favorite pastimes included fresh and saltwater fishing. A true outdoorsman, he cherished the time spent in the company of family. In earlier years, he was active in his children's activities and served as a Scout Leader with the Annawon Council of the Boy Scouts of America and was a coach for the local Little League program. In addition to his wife of 32 years, he leaves three children: Peter R. Bastille of Uxbridge; Joshua D. Bastille of South Lake Tahoe, California and Katy L. Gabel of Attleboro; a brother: Robert Bastille of Hyannis; four sisters: Dianne Garzia of Cropseyville, New York; Jeanne Bastille of Attleboro; Annette Birch of Attleboro and Anita Fernandes of Attleboro and several nieces and nephews. Racine, 87 Former USA Today chief Paul Flynn dead at 73 Taunton - Paul G. Racine, of Taunton died Wednesday, September 17, in Marian Manor following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Lucy (Champluvier) Racine. He was born 87 years ago in New Bedford, the son of the late J. Arthur and Irene (Desorcy) Racine. He was educated in New Bedford and had been a Taunton resident for the past 50 years. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a machinist for the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant for many years. Mr. Racine was a member of the A.A.R.P. and the Federation of Mobile Home Owners of Florida. He enjoyed singing, spending winters in Florida and spending time with his family. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton. He leaves: a son, Paul D. Racine and his wife, Kathy of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four daughters: Lucille Sposini and her husband Frederick of Raynham, Irene Murray and her husband Nick of East Taunton, Denise Bussiere and her husband George of Attleboro, Claudette Posca of No. Dighton; three brothers, Rene Racine and his wife Eileen of Acushnet, Robert Racine of New Bedford, Deacon Leo Racine and his wife Marguerite of New Bedford. Four sisters, Marcelle Kirouac of New Bedford, Blanche Pedro and her husband Hector of Acushnet, Helen Aubut and her husband Wilfred of New Bedford and Pauline Wade and her husband Ronald of Alexandria; Va, a friend: Muriel Melanson of Westport. "Pat" (Beaudet) Servant, 87, of Colonial Club Drive, Boynton Beach, Florida; formerly of Attleboro and North Attleboro; died on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 as a result of injuries sustained when she was struck by a motor vehicle while out on her daily walk. She was the wife of the late William J. Servant, her schoolmate, to whom she married in 1946 and who died in 1951 and was the wife of the late Gerald "Jerry" Heagney to whom she was married in 1973 and died in 1981. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on October 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Ovid and Ella (Mailloux) Beaudet. She was raised and educated in the City of Providence where she was a 1938 graduate of Classical High School and was a 1940 graduate of the former Bryant College, now Bryant University. Mrs. Servant was a resident of Providence until moving to Attleboro following her marriage in 1946. She remained an Attleboro resident until moving to Boynton Beach, Florida in 1981. While living in Attleboro, Mrs. Servant was a communicant of St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro Falls. Mrs. Servant was employed in the Wage and Salary Department at the former L.G. Balfour Company in Attleboro and later as a receptionist for the Sun Chronicle, Attleboro. During her retirement years, she was a docent at the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach and as an aid at the Boynton Public Library. A woman of tremendous energy and strength, she enjoyed daily swimming and walking, yoga, solving crossword puzzles, listening to classical music and conversation with her children. She was the mother of Gregory L. Servant and his wife, Pauline, of Fairfax, Virginia; Christopher E. Servant, and his wife, Elise, of Attleboro Falls and Susan M. Eckerman and her husband, Dr. David Eckerman, PhD, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; grandmother of Gregory, Christian, Patricia and Joshua Servant; William, Catherine, Christine and Timothy Servant and Anne Elizabeth Edinger, Amanda Jane Fairchild and Pamela Fairchild; great grandmother of Max Edinger and Isaac Servant. She was the sister of the late Madeleine Beaudet and Andrew Beaudet. Visitation has been respectfully omitted.
