Top Headlines Mary Wapenski, 90 ATTLEBORO - Mary E. Wapenski died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008 after a lengthy illness at the age of 90. Mary was the wife of the late Stephen Wapenski. She was recently living at the Golden Living Center & Gardan Place in Attleboro, and formerly of Whittenton Street in Taunton. Mary was born in Taunton to her late parents, Theophile and Emma (Chamberlain) Nattinville. She was educated in Taunton schools, graduating from Taunton High School in 1936. She was employed as a cable maker for the Raytheon Co., retiring in 1980. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Mary is survived by her children, Stephen M. Wapenski of Taunton and Theresa L. Lemay of Pawtucket; her daughter-in-law, Rosemary Wapenski of Taunton; her sister, Jane Hetu of North Attleboro; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral is Monday, Sept. 29 at 9 a.m. from the O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Rosary Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment in Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton. Visit our Web site, www.okeefewade.com, to sign the guestbook, and for obituaries and directions. William Chartier, 79 FLORIDA - William H. Chartier, 79, died Aug. 20, 2008 in Altamonte Springs, Fla. He was the husband of Gloria M. Chartier, to whom he was married on Aug. 1, 1953 in Mansfield. Born in Attleboro, Sept. 4, 1929, he was the son of the Gretchen (Kaiser) and Louis Chartier. He was educated in Attleboro schools. William was a member of the University Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Orlando, Fla. He had three children: Frances A. (Chartier) Senecal of Maine, Prescott W. Chartier Sr. of Pawtucket and Donald R. Chartier of Attleboro. William worked for several businesses in his lifetime, first at Attleboro Print and Embossing, Henry Lewis Co., Augat Inc., Leach and Garner and Stern Leach, retiring from Stern Leach in 1995. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He moved from Attleboro to Florida in 1995. A Memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, corner of Elmwood and Dennis streets, Attleboro. He will be buried in Shirley Village Cemetery, Shirley, Mass. Arrangements are by Woodlawn Funeral Home, Orlando, Fla.
