Top Headlines Milton Cole, 77 TAUNTON -Milton David Cole, 77, died on Monday, Sept. 29, 2008 in Morton Hospital in Taunton after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Clayton and Elinda (Babeu) Cole. Milton, a lifelong resident of Taunton, was a 1949 graduate of Taunton High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1953. He enjoyed vacationing in Maine and New Hampshire with his family every summer. He was a avid reader, loved history, and enjoyed listening to music. Mostly he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a retired shipper for the Dial Manufacturing Co in Taunton, having retired in 1996, and he had also been a shipper at Halco Toy Distributor in East Taunton and at Bay State Tap and Die in Mansfield. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Taunton. He is survived by his wife, Norma (Pineo) Cole of Taunton, and his three daughters, Valerie Lynch and her husband Michael of Bridgewater, Vicki Belanger and her husband Robert of Plymouth and Vanessa DaRosa and her husband Eugene "Butch" of Taunton. Milton is the grandfather of Jacqueline, Shawn, Erin and Shannon Lynch; Cole and Samantha Belanger, and Curtis DaRosa. He is the brother of Jeanette Hawkins and her husband Aldbert of Florida and the late Lorraine Oldfield, and Clayton, Roland, Norman and Raymond Cole. He is the brother-in-law of Mary and Eileen Cole, both of Taunton. He was also a wonderful uncle of several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service in St. John's Episcopal Church, 370 Bay St., Taunton on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Mayflower Hill Cemetery. (Ciriello) Orecchio, 79, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008 in Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood. Born in Boston on May 30, 1929 to Vincent and Giovanina (Napolitano) Ciriello, she graduated from Hyde Park High School. She went on to attend Northeastern University. She had been living in Norfolk for the past four years, moving from Walpole, where she lived for 42 years. She worked in the insurance industry for 40 years at Alexander and Alexander Insurance Agency and USF&G Insurance Company. Most recently she worked at Reliance Insurance Company as the senior underwriter for all of New England selling personal, home, automotive and commercial insurance. She was a volunteer at Norwood Hospital for 14 years, as well as the Old Post Road School in Walpole for four years. She also sang in the choir at Saint Timothy's Church in Norwood. Mrs. Orecchio enjoyed ballroom dancing at the Legion in Norwood and Luciano's Lake Pearl in Wrentham. She also enjoyed gardening, growing both flowers and vegetables, and singing and cooking. She was the beloved wife of John J. Orecchio; the loving mother of Michael L. and his wife Sheila Orecchio of Attleboro, John V. Orecchio of Walpole and David P. and his wife Lisa Orecchio of Walpole; the cherished grandmother of Michelle Orecchio of Attleboro, Thomas Orecchio of Attleboro, Paul Orecchio of Walpole and Brian Orecchio of Walpole; the sister of Helen Spranza of Williamsburg, Va.; and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Stone Sr., 81, of Norton, formerly of Mansfield, died on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008 in the comfort of his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice M. (Quinn) Stone, who passed away on Aug. 19, 1994. Mr. and Mrs. Stone were wed on Nov. 23, 1947. Born in Norwood on Sept. 16, 1927, he was a son of the late Philip H. Sr. and Mary A. (Conroy) Stone. He grew up in Walpole, and attended the Walpole public schools. In 1945, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and was honorably discharged on Sept. 10, 1948 with the rank of ship's storekeeper third class. Mr. Stone was a retired machinist, and had worked for 30 years at Ingersol-Rand in Walpole prior to retiring. A communicant of St. Mary's Church in Mansfield, John was also a member of the Foxboro VFW. An avid bowler, his hobbies included gardening, and in recent years he enjoyed watching sports. His favorite times were those spent in the presence of his loving family. John had made his home in Norton for the past 16 years, and was a former 27-year resident of Mansfield. He is survived by his loving children, John C. Stone Jr. of Wrentham, William P. Stone of Fort Worth, Texas, Catherine T. Curry and her husband Bryan of Foxboro and Alice M. Zarrillo and her husband Louis of Norton. He was the brother of Rosalie A. Patchin of Plainville, William Stone of South Dennis and the late Philip H. Stone Jr., Phyllis E. Williams and Joyce A. Smith. He was the loving grandfather of Daniel J. Stone and his wife Merilee of Midlothian, Texas, Timothy C. Stone Sr. and his wife Heidi of Midlothian, David J. Curry of Foxboro and Kaitlin A. Zarrillo of Norton. He was the cherished great- grandfather of Kaylee P. Stone, Timothy C. Stone Jr. and Colton J. Stone, all of Midlothian; and is also survived by his devoted former daughter-in-law, Kathleen A. Stone of Irving, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. (Byrne) Tomaino, 75, of Norton, formerly of Wrentham and Norwood, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Tomaino. Born in Hartford, Conn., on Dec. 12, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Chester P. and Thelma G. (Hendricks) Byrne. She grew up in Norwood, and was educated in the Norwood public schools. She went on to graduate from the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Nursing School. A retired registered nurse, Lura began her nursing career as a surgical nurse at Norwood Hospital. She later worked as an industrial nurse at several companies, including Liberty Mutual and the Russell Craft Card Co., and in later years as a private nurse. An active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she was also a member of the National Audubon Society. A lover of animals, Lura was especially fond of dogs and cats and sheep, and while living in Wrentham, she had raised sheep and geese at her home. She had made her home in Norton for the past two-and-a-half years. She was former longtime resident of Wrentham. She is survived by her brother, Richard K. Byrne and his wife Gail of Naples, Fla.; one niece, two nephews and nine grand- nieces and nephews. Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Henson, 65, a lifelong resident of Norton, died on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare Center in Norton. Born in Attleboro on Dec. 6, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Charles G. and Cecile M. (Audette) Henson. Educated in the Norton public schools, she was a 1962 graduate of Norton High School. She was employed at Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 15 years as a general assembler prior to retiring. Paula was a member and past president of the ladies auxiliary at the Norton American Legion in Norton and was also a member of the women's auxiliary at the Norton VFW. She was a member of the Norton Senior Citizens and the Red Hat Society, and in her spare time enjoyed crafts, crocheting and knitting. She is survived by her brothers, Charles D. Henson of Norton and John S. Henson and his wife Carol of Norton. She was the aunt of Christopher J. Henson of Medway, and is also survived by several cousins and uncles and aunts. Loretta Nadeau, 83 ATTLEBORO - Loretta I. Nadeau, of South Main Street, Attleboro, a lifelong resident of Attleboro, passed peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008 at the LifeCare Center of Attleboro after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She was 83. Born in Attleboro on Sept. 2, 1925, Loretta was a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Marie A. (Ringuette) Nadeau. She was raised and educated in Attleboro and was a graduate of Attleboro High School. Loretta was employed in accounting at Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 33 years until retiring. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Attleboro and was formerly an officer and active at the Texas Instruments Federal Credit Union. Loretta is survived by a sister-in-law, Florence Nadeau of Saugus, five nieces and nephews and several great- and great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters: the Rev. Fr. Roland Nadeau, M.S., the Rev. Fr. Armand Nadeau M.S., A. Omer Nadeau, Thelma Gagnon and Doris Nadeau.
