Book it to Plainville library's sal




The Friends of the Plainville Public Library will hold their annual book sale starting this Friday, with a Friends preview sale from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitors are welcome to become a member of the Friends that evening at the door. Membership fees are as follows: student/senior $5, individual $10, family $15, business $25 or patron $50. Refreshments will be served.

The public sale will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The children's room will be closed due to the book sale, which will continue for the following two weeks in front of the circulation desk during normal library hours. During the week of Oct. 20-25, fiction books will be on sale, and Oct. 27 to Nov. 1, nonfiction books will be on sale. On the Saturdays during these two weeks from 1 to 2 p.m. there will be a special bag sale.

Books are presorted into more than 20 categories and priced as follows: children's books 25 cents, paperbacks 50 cents, and hardcover and trade books $1. Best-sellers and books of gift-giving quality are priced slightly higher.

Plainville Paintball opens Marty and Luanne Jacobs, who have operated outdoor and indoor paintball fields in Randolph and Holbrook since 1995, announce the opening of Plainville Paintball at 31 Taunton St., the site of two new speedball fields and one woods ballfield.

Families, groups and walk-ons are welcome at Plainville Paintball, where birthday parties and bachelor parties can be held.

Reservations are recommended for groups, but walk-on players are welcome anytime. Open games are held every Saturday and Sunday. Players can rent equipment or use their own. For more information visit www.plainvillepaintball.com or call Marty at 781-986-2255.

Cat crafts

Here's a reminder that Angelcat Haven Feline Rescue is holding its second annual Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the North Attleboro Elk's Lodge at 52 Bulfinch St. in North Attleboro. For a $1 admission, the day includes many items for sale, baked goods, food, refreshments and raffles.

Vendors and crafters include jewelry makers, scrap bookers, Tastefully Simple, The Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Mia Bella Candles, and more. All proceeds from the fair go directly to cover medical expenses for cats and kittens.

PTO fundraiser set

The Plainville PTO is hosting their annual Ladies Night Out on Friday, Nov. 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Jackson School at 68 Messenger St.

The event will feature local vendors and various demonstrations. Past events included free mini-massages, interactive karate demos, complimentary nonalcoholic frozen drinks, and more. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Plainville PTO. Vendors interested in participating in this event should call Jacqui at 508-695-9223 or Amy at 508-269-0611.
