Norfolk police seek teen, 17

NORFOLK - Norfolk police late Saturday night said they are searching for a missing 17-year-old Plainville girl who hasn't been seen since Friday night.

Taylor Meyer was last seen Friday at 10 p.m. at a house-party in the Norfolk area, according to Plainville Sgt. Scott Gallerani.

Meyer was first reported missing by her mother at about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Gallerani said.

Police described Meyer as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, approximately 150 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

" I agree. Put out a Amber Alert. 17 years old does not make her an adult. I pray that she is found quickly. As a parent of a 17 years old, it could happen to any one of us. May she come safe & sound. "

" The old air strip is surrounded by swamp area. They found one of her shoes at the end of the old runway and her vehicle is still where she left it.

The members of the party stated she walked away from the party spot intoxicated Friday night and no one has seen or heard from her since. Unfortunately, the temps the last couple of nights have been cold and there is little chance she has survived the elements.

Last report there were 300 people assisting in the search including State police dogs, scuba dive teams, and I beleive the US Coast Guard sent a Helo out Saturday afternoon with the thermo camera on it to search the area. If you are available they are taking volunteers to assist with the search. If interested call Norfolk fire @ 508-528-3207. The parents need closure to the where abouts of their child. Even if at this point it may be a body recovery.

Many prayer out the the family and friends. "

" It wasn't a "house" party but a party at the airport strip....so I've heard...."rumor control" Where is there an airport strip in Nofolk? This is every parents NIGHTMARE. You try to let them "spread their wings" but they (the kids) don't understand why we are protective....we've all been 17, and nothing good happens after 12:00am. I pray for this girl and hope it has a happy ending. "

" why are the police searching the airport? The news says its because that's were all the kids seem to party. This newspaper's article says she was at a house party? God, may these officers locate this young lady quickly. "
