NORFOLK - The autopsy for a popular King Philip Regional High School senior who was found dead Monday in a marsh near the former Norfolk airport may not be conducted until Wednesday.
The state Medical Examiner's office does not anticipate conducting the autopsy on 17-year-old Taylor Meyer of Plainville before Wednesday, according to David Traub, spokesman for Norfolk County District Attorney William Keating.
Preliminary autopsy results had been expected today.
Meyer, a senior honors student, was the subject of a massive air and ground search after she left a drinking party last Friday night in the woods near the airport and did not arrive home.
Friends reportedly thought Meyer had gotten a ride home from someone else and her family believed she had stayed with friends.
Counselors were at the high school today.
