FOXBORO - Kevin Deschenes, coach of the unbeaten, Old Colony League-leading Attleboro High School football team, has been named the New England Patriots "High School Coach of the Week."

With a 55-0 rout of Taunton in an OCL game last week, the Bombardiers improved to 6-0 on the season. Next up for AHS is a visit to Somerset on Friday.

The Patriots and the NFL are in their 13th season of honoring the area's outstanding high school football coaches and those who promote youth football throughout New England.

"The Patriots congratulate Coach Deschenes and his team for a fantastic start to the 2008 season," said former All-Pro linebacker and recent NFL Hall of Fame inductee Andre Tippett, the Patriots' executive director for community affairs. "It's evident that the Attleboro team is thriving under the direction of Coach Deschenes and we congratulate them."

The New England Patriots' Charitable Foundation will contribute $1,000 to Attleboro's' football program in Deschenes' name in recognition of the Coach of the Week award.
The Charitable Foundation is the non-profit organization through which the Patriots support charitable and philanthropic organizations throughout New England.

Deschenes will be honored by the Patriots during the WCVB (Channel 5) weekly Patriots All Access program to be aired Saturday evening at 7 p.m. and Sunday morning at 10.
