North student moves on in 'Jeopardy!' Teen Tournament

NORTH ATTLEBORO - A North Attleboro youngster is a semifinalist in the Jeopardy! Teen Tournament.
Karan Takhar easily won a round which aired on Wednesday, earning $26,401. His closest competitor had $8,000.
The 17-year-old student at the Wheeler School in Providence was ahead by $5,000 going into Final Jeopardy!
The category was "Word Origins."
The question asked which branch of mathematics comes from the Greek word for reunite.
The answer: algebra.
During the interview session with host Alex Trebek, Takhar was asked about his showing at the International Geography Bee in 2005, where he finished second.
There is no word when Takhar will next appear on the popular game show.
