Norton High Chorus to perform at Wang
Top Headlines Getting to perform in the Wang lobby on Saturday was the grand prize in a Nov. 12 contest at Cardi's Furniture in South Attleboro, Chorus Director Kyla Polak said. Norton competed against just one other chorus - Pawtucket's Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the Performing and Visual Arts High School, Polak said. The students had to sing for five minutes for judges in the Cardi's lobby. They sang "Snow," by Audrey Snyder. The Norton students will sing for 30 to 45 minutes in the Wang lobby before the production of "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas: the Musical." "They're really excited, and it's a good chance to get our name out there," Polak said. "I don't think many people have heard much about the Norton High chorus." Both the Norton and Pawtucket choruses received tickets to the musical. Polak said she expects her chorus to sing about 14 selections, a mix of carols and songs from their upcoming holiday concert.
