GOBIS: Dust up at NAHS

An ongoing project to replace the stone dust infield at the North Attleboro High School Softball Field (Kelly Field) is coming to a successful conclusion. The old infield is being replaced by a new clay infield and the field has been completely laser re-graded under the direction of Attleboro's Denny Brolin, the former Gillette Stadium and McCoy Stadium field specialist who now operates Sports Turf Specialties out of Plainville. The combined effort to fund this project has been led by a group called NARSA (North Attleboro Recreation Softball Association) which has run a summer girls softball tournament in town each of the past three summers along with North Attleboro Park and Recreation Dept. director Steve Carvalho. The North Attleboro School Dept., under the guidance of Facilities Manager Kyle Kummer and Athletic Director Paul Sullivan, also were instrumental.
