Police ask aid in finding South Attleboro bandit store

Top Headlines The robber entered the convenience store located off Route 1 around 9 p.m. and displayed a black semi-automatic .22-caliber handgun and carried a small black plastic trash bag, according to police. He robbed three store employees of cash and fled the store on foot in the direction of Route 1 on the South Attleboro-Pawtucket line near Interstate 95, police said. No one was hurt in the robbery. A loaded .22-caliber firearm clip was found at the scene. The robber was described as a black man with a goatee. He had a medium build, medium complexion and was about 5 feet, 6 inches to 6 feet tall. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, pants and sneakers. Police said he was considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about the suspect or his whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Jeffrey Peavey at 508-222-1259. The photographs were also posted on www.massmostwanted.com, a Web site sponsored by the Massachusetts Bankers Association and maintained by the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council to identify unknown criminal suspects.
