Obituaries were reported for Teresa Penha, 80, of Attleboro, Charles Seekell Jr., 77, of North Attleboro, Edith Holmes, 91, of Norwood, Glenna Monteiro, 63, of North Attleboro, and Pauline Sheehan, 78, of Clearwater, Fla.

Teresa Penha, 80

ATTLEBORO - Teresa E. (Enos) Penha, 80, of the Golden Living Center-Attleboro, George Street, Attleboro, died on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 at the facility following a period of declining health. She was the dedicated wife and caregiver of the late Armando Penha, to whom she was married on Dec. 11, 1975 and who died on Jan. 7, 2004.

Born in Dighton on April 23, 1928, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Enos. Raised and educated in Dighton, Mrs. Penha was a graduate of the former Dighton High School and later earned her nursing degree.

For more than the past 10 years, Mrs. Penha has resided in Attleboro, having maintained homes on Dean Street and Hodges Street prior to moving to the Golden Living Center-Attleboro, formerly Ridgewood Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, on Feb. 17, 2006. Prior to returning to the City of Attleboro in 1996, she and her late husband were residents of Lakeland, Fla. since 1987. Following World War II, she earned her license to become a practical nurse and practiced for several years. In later years, she was employed as a factory employee at various companies in the Attleboro area, including Texas Instruments, prior to her retirement.

A woman of strong independence, she will be remembered for her caregiving skills to her late husband.

She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro for many years.

Mrs. Penha leaves two sons, John W. Reynolds of Attleboro and Ralph E. Reynolds of Phoenix, Ariz.; a grandson, Samuel J. Reynolds of Attleboro; and extended family members.

Visitation has been respectfully omitted.

Private inurnment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery Columbarium, Bourne.

Charles Seekell Jr., 77 NORTH ATTLEBORO - Charles Albert Seekell Jr., 77, of Robinwood Road, North Attleboro, died on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Irene A. (Lamoureaux) Seekell, to whom he was married on June 27, 1953.

Born in Taunton on April 18, 1932, he was a son of the late Charles A. Seekell Sr. and Mary (McAloon) Seekell. He was raised and educated in Taunton, where he was a 1948 graduate of the former Coyle High School. He and his family moved to North Attleboro from his native city in October 1966.

Mr. Seekell was employed for 38 years by the V.H. Blackinton Company in Attleboro Falls prior to his retirement in 1997. He started with the company as an electroplater and retired as the plating room supervisor.

He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in North Attleboro and appreciated the spiritual support of Sister Kathy and the entire parish during his illness.

Mr. and Mrs. Seekell maintained a winter home in North Ft. Myers, Fla. for the past 12 years.

He enjoyed traveling, reading, and watching movies, but most of all treasured the time he spent with his beloved family creating memories that will sustain him within their hearts for eternity.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, he leaves four children, Charles L. Seekell and his wife Bonnie L. (Leary) Seekell of North Kingstown, R.I., Ann Marie Ward and her husband Frank P. Ward of North Attleboro, James Seekell and his wife Rosemary (Alves) Seekell of North Attleboro and Annette Loso and her husband Frank Loso of Aberdeen, N.J.; six grandchildren: Allison Ward of Manhattan, N.Y., Suzanne Ward of North Providence, R.I., Gregory Seekell of North Kingstown, David Seekell of North Kingstown, Amanda Seekell of Middletown, Conn. and Kevin Seekell of North Attleboro; a sister, Jeannette Murphy of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave. (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, 3/4 mile on left), Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.

A children's room will be available during visitation.

Those in need of a local ride to visitation may call the funeral home at 508-695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral service on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 8:45 a.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave. (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, 3/4 mile on left), Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Park Street, North Attleboro with the Rev. David Costa, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.

Following cemetery services, an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship, refreshments and remembrance at a location to be announced.

Edith Holmes, 91

NORWOOD - Edith L. (DeLuca) Holmes, 91, of Norwood, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at the Harrington House in Walpole. She was the wife of Frederick J. Holmes of Norwood.

Born in Boston on Feb. 18, 1917, she graduated from West Roxbury High School.

She was a retired key punch operator for Masoneilan in Norwood.

She was a member of St. Catherine's Church in Norwood and of the Norwood Senior Citizens Club.

She had resided in Norwood since 1955.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Cynthia L. Moran and her husband Richard of Attleboro; her son, Rick Holmes and his wife Joanne of Easthampton; and three grandchildren, Chris and Mark Holmes and Debbie DeAmelio Smith.

She was the grandmother of the late William DeAmelio.

A funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19 at St. Catherine's Church in Norwood. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.

Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington St., Norwood.

Glenna Monteiro, 63

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Glenna C. Monteiro, 63, of Jefferson Street, North Attleboro passed away on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008 in the Madonna Manor Nursing Home. She was the longtime companion of Tom Beauregard of North Attleboro.

Born in Franklin on Nov. 8, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Charles "Red" and Eva (Hebard) Desper.

Glenna was educated in the Franklin public schools.

She worked as a self-employed housekeeper, retiring years ago. Previously, she worked at Texas Instruments in Attleboro.

Glenna also enjoyed gardening, traveling to Cape Cod, and motorcycle rides with Tom.

In addition to her companion Tom, she is survived by her son, David Monteiro of North Attleboro; a granddaughter, Jasmine Monteiro of North Attleboro; her siblings, Charles Desper Jr., Stanley Desper, Marjie Scanlon, Audrey Fallis, Ida McKay, Kenneth Desper, Priscilla Ginard, Rachel Mooney, Thomas Desper, Mary Jane Mittenberg, Nancy White, Susan Desper and Debbie McCarthy; and Tom's children, Kevin Beauregard, Doreen Garcia and Michelle Beauregard.

She was the sister of the late Dottie Desper, Phyllis Pupa, Imogene Desper, Richard Desper and Linda Desper.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John J. Diamond Funeral Home, 180 North Washington St., North Attleboro.

Pauline Sheehan, 78

CLEARWATER, FLA. - Pauline Teresa Sheehan, 78, of Ashton Abbey Road, Clearwater, Fla., formerly a 37-year resident of Norton, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008 at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, Fla.

She was the beloved wife of 53 years of Edward C. Sheehan.

Born Pauline Teresa Bonner in Attleboro on Aug. 22, 1930, Pauline was a daughter of the late George D. and Hazel M. (Guild) Bonner. She was raised and educated in Attleboro.

Mrs. Sheehan was employed for over 15 years as an office clerk at the former L.G. Balfour Company in Attleboro, and later retired as a supervisor in the final inspection and packing department at Masters of Design in North Attleboro after a number of years of service.

A resident of Clearwater since 1992, Mrs. Sheehan previously resided in Norton since 1955.

She enjoyed camping in Vermont and traveling.

The Sheehans visited Australia, Europe, Hawaii, British Columbia, Las Vegas, California and other vacation destinations over the years.

In addition to her beloved husband Edward, Pauline is survived by a brother, Walter Bonner of Orwell, Vt.; three sisters, Geraldine Pedro of Attleboro, Eileen Perry of Londonderry, N.H. and Kathleen Kessler of Rumford, R.I;. and many nieces and nephews.

She was the loving sister of the late Robert Bonner.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro.

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home. Mrs. Sheehan will be laid to rest in St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Attleboro.
