Top Headlines Todd Kobus, 31, of 189 Clifton St. "jumped over the wall" separating the stands from the field "and he proceeded to tackle" Seau, Foxboro Deputy Police Chief John Chandler said. The wall is 6 or 7 feet high, Chandler said. The incident happened during the fourth quarter of Sunday's 47-7 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Police arrested Kobus and charged him with trespassing and assault and battery. Chandler said "we didn't ask" why Kobus allegedly attacked Seau. Kobus was released on personal recognizance after being arraigned. Judge Warren Powers continued the case until Feb. 17 for a pre-trial hearing, according to the clerk magistrate's office. Patriots spokesman Stacey James said the team has revoked the ticket Kobus used. The Sun Chronicle is trying to reach Kobus' attorney, John Gaffney Jr. of Dedham. The newspaper profiled Kobus in a Jan. 21, 2007, story about Iraq veterans returning to civilian life. At that time, Kobus, a National Guard intelligence specialist, was assigned to the 26th Brigade Combat team at Fort Devens. He also was a senior software engineer at Watters Inc. He previously spent most of a year in Kuwait and Iraq with the Rehoboth-based 42nd Division Artillery, which was then deactivated. Kobus became known locally for a military blog he wrote, lostiniraq.com. The site was packed with pictures, videos and irreverent humor, and was widely read among the military and their families. Kobus told The Sun Chronicle in 2007 that after 18 months away from home, incidental pleasures such as a cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee and driving his own car took on special meaning. "It took a little longer than I expected to settle back into the routine, but I'm happy the way my life is going now," Kobus said at the time. Still, Kobus said he was glad he went to Iraq, and called the time he spent together with his fellow soldiers "one of the best experiences I've had in my life." He said he was not anxious to be deployed again, only because it would take more time away from his civilian life and career. The Attleboro resident spoke to students at Case High School in Swansea in 2007 about his experiences.

And we wonder why our children are the way they are and the drinking problems getted passed from one generation to the next - hannalynne encourages this and will teach her children to look up to Todd and his actions. God help us all. "

The reason they don't show this type of activity on broadcast TV is to not give the fool an opportunity for 'fame'. But the SC has done this very well for him. Let it go, and report on true news, I'm sure there are any number of good news stories you can find. "

A- These people are over served so Kraft can make money. Security call in a few drunks and they think that covers them. Think about it, these people are allowed to drink from 10:00 until about 3:00.
B- SIMPLE SOLUTION, Don't allow tailgating, if you get caught you lose your season ticket........
This guy being a vet has NOTHING to do with the incident, he just happens to be one, thats all... "

They call it a public comment forum for a reason Chiman. If you are much too busy and have more important things to attend to, simply ignore and don't participate. What's so threatening to you about a blog and how people choose to spend their own time?
As for dogging the military, that's ridiculous for someone to do. The fact that he's a vet and went out and did this stupid thing has no connection at all. "

As far as him being a vet, that's a non issue, being a vet doesn't have anything to do with what he did. "

As for the Pats games, I go to a few every year, and I'll be the first to tell you that I drink heavily when I tailgate, as does pretty much everyone at the game. But there is a diffenece between getting drunk and being a complete idiot. Some people can actully get drunk and not act like a fool. There are over 60k fans that go to Pats games weekly, and only one has jumped the wall over the last couple years. This guy got lucky because he surprised Seau and he didn't cross paths with the wrong player. I can imagine if the offense was on the sideline and someone like Login Mankins was standing there, the guy would have been killed. In baseball, wen a fan jumps and touches another player, they get pumbled by both teams. This idiot could have been killed. "

As for the inference that he has a problem, I know plenty of non-alcoholics who, after a couple of drinks, have done something they are ashamed of. Usually not on national TV but ashamed just the same.
I would also like to point out that it was the press, particularly the SC, that tried to infer a connection between his veteran status and his dumb stunt. "

Don't blame his military service, there are a lot of paper patriots out there who pull off a lot worse stunts.
BTW Mr Kobus, thanks for your service. A dumb stunt in civilian life doesn't eliminate your service to your country. "

My memories of my 1st trip there or to Fenway or the the old Garden was all about the venue, the players, how cool it was to see something in person that I always saw on TV. Now, it seems, the experience is about having to ask your child to get up every minute so the fools down the row can get up to get his 12th beer.
Don't want to be a prude, but it is a bit disappointing to see the games turn into nothing more than a booze-fest that just so happens to include a professional sporting event as a backdrop. "

A non-vet would be charged and punished for the same thing.
Sure, I appreciate what the military does, but we have to remember that they voluntarily sign up for that job, no one forces them to. The job, then, should not give them the ticket to ignore laws. A worker at Wal-Mart can't use their employment as an excuse for breaking the law, why should the military do that and get away with it? "

Lastly, why are there so FEW Foxboro police officers on the field? I overheard a police officer this morning at Dunk's saying that the stadium has cut back drastically on their details. I bet the family of the two firefighters killed would like to know why! Even the media is afraid of Gillette Stadium. look and you will find the answers......... "
