NORTH ATTLEBORO - Peter Chang and Steve Hausmann came through with pairs of victories for the second time in as many days as the North Attleboro High boys' swimming team downed Barnstable 102-66 Tuesday at the Hockomock YMCA.

In improving to 3-0 on the season, the North boys received wins from Chang in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke (a personal best 1:13), while Hausmann qualified for the MIAA State Meet in winning both the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle. In addition, junior first-year performer Chris McKearney came through with a strong third place in the 50 freestyle and was a member of the first-place 200 medley relay team.

The North Attleboro High girls' team (1-1) had first-place finishes from Ashley Walnut (500 freestyle) and Jess Berkley (100 breaststroke) but fell 96-74 to the Red Raiders. "Some girls became legitimate varsity swimmers," said North coach Tim Kelley of the keen competition. "We just got out-touched here and there."

North is off until a Jan. 9 meet at Canton.
