Top Headlines ATTLEBORO - Students at Dayspring Christian Academy entertained family members, relatives, friends and classmates earlier this month with their annual Christmas musical program staged at the South Attleboro Assembly of God, located on Newport Avenue. In front of an estimated crowd of 250 spectators and on a stage adorned with holiday decorations, students enthusiastically performed a play entitled "It's a Wonder-Full Life" with musical accompaniment. More than 20 students acted in the play and were supported by the school's choir, whose members sang a long list of Christmas songs. "It's a Wonder-Full Life" is a seasonal play delving into the true meaning of Christmas by defining the conflict between materialism and spiritualism. Plainville church to serve chicken PLAINVILLE - The Plainville United Methodist Church will hold a supper of chicken pot pie as the next supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 at 16 East Bacon St. in Plainville. The cost is $9 for adults and $3.50 for children, which includes dinner, beverages and dessert. For tickets or reservations, call 508-695-5141 or 508-699-8646. Suppers for the remainder of the season will be held on the second Saturday of each month at 5:30. Current schedule of main dishes (subject to change) as follows: Jan 10 - Chicken pot pie (calendar supper; early reservations advised.) Feb. 14 - Lasagna. March 14 - Meatloaf. April 11 - TBA, May 9 - Oven-roasted chicken and salads. Norwood church has divorce series NORWOOD - The Divorce Recovery Series, an eight-week program covering the emotional stages of divorce and offering healing and support to those who are divorced or separated, will be offered at the First Congregational Church of Norwood beginning on Thursday, Jan. 15. The First Congregational Church is located on the corner of Route 1A and Winter Street in Norwood. The series will meet on Thursday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and the cost is $90. South Walpole church book club to meet WALPOLE - The Christian Book Club at the South Walpole United Methodist Church will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6 to discuss "The Shack," by William Paul Young.
