BOSTON - It was quite a day for the Bishop Feehan girls at the MSTCA Boston Holiday Invitational at the Reggie Lewis Center on Sunday.

The Shamrock girls won three races and had two runners qualify for the Millrose Games in the mile, but perhaps the most enjoyable moment was the 4x800 relay team finally surpassing rival Hingham for a victory.

The quartet of Viviana Hanley, Annisa Arsenault, Katie Barrett and Jen Thomas clocked a winning time of 9:56.13. Trailing Hingham, which has beaten the Shamrocks the last two years, Thomas took the baton for the final leg and turned in a 2:25 spli, overtaking the Hingham runner about halfway through the race.

Barrett (5th place/5:21.02) and Thomas (6th/5:22.48) both qualified for the Millrose Games in the mile. Arsenault also picked up a blue ribbon in the two mile with a winning time of 11:50.62, while Janelle McNeil won the long jump with a leap of 16-feet, 63/4 inches.

For the Feehan boys, Kevin Boland (7.0 seconds) and O'Brien MacHayle (7.05) finished 3-4 in the 55 dash. MacHayle also placed sixth in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 19-43/4. - Perhaps the best individual day for a local athlete belonged to Casey O'Brien of SEEKONK. O'Brien won the boys' 55 dash (6.87), placed second in the 200 (22.87) and 13th in the long jump.

- For MANSFIELD, Patrick Grimes also qualified for the Millrose Games with a second-place finish in the mile with a time of 2:23.4, a personal-best by eight seconds and just one second off the school record.
