Wanted: Peer models in Attleboro

ATTLEBORO - The Integrated Special Needs Preschool Program at the Early Learning Center and Young Children's Community Center at Thacher School is looking for a limited number of 3 and 4-year-old children to participate as peer models for the 2009-2010 school year.

To participate in the program a child must be a resident of Attleboro, 3 years old, and demonstrate age-appropriate skills.

Parents are encouraged to call the ELC at 508-223-1563, ext. 396, during the week of Feb. 2-6 to set up an appointment for their children. Final selections will be based solely on the needs of the preschool programs for next year.

All parents of children accepted into the program will be notified by April 10. At the time of acceptance, a non-refundable registration fee of $50 will be charged.

Parents must provide transportation for their children. A yearly fee, based on a sliding scale, is charged to all peer models. For more information, call 508-223-1563, ext. 396.

Also, the ELC and Young Children's Community Center will hold an open house from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4. Parents will be able to tour the ELC, meet teachers and staff and learn more about preschool programs.
