WAREHAM - Mary Nwachukwu nearly outscored the Vikings herself as the Dighton-Rehoboth girls' basketball team remained unbeaten with a 58-30 South Coast Conference victory over Wareham Tuesday night.
The Vikings kept a close watch on Nwachukwu in the first half as the Boston College-bound senior scored just 10 points, but the Falcons got some balanced scoring from up and down their lineup to build on a 24-10 lead to 40-20 after three quarters.
Robyn Catarius chipped in 10 points for D-R. The Falcons (8-0, 5-0 SCC) are at Bourne on Friday.
Bourne 58, Seekonk 34BOURNE - Also in the Southern Conference, undefeated Bourne outscored Seekonk 18-3 in the third quarter to put the Warriors away.
Michel'le St. Pierre led the way with 13 points for the Warriors (3-5, 2-3 SCC).
Seekonk is at Apponequet on Friday night (6).
Sharon 65, King Philip 47WRENTHAM - The improvement is there for the Warriors, but not the ability to match up with an elite scorer like the Eagles' Grace Rehnquist.
Rehnquist scored 37 points, hitting five 3-pointers in the process, and the Eagles jumped out an 18-6 halftime lead en route to the Hockomock League victory. The 47 points tied KP's high for the season.
Diane LeBlue led the Warriors with nine points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots.
KP (1-6, 0-4 league) is at Canton on Friday.
