Local wrestlers wrap up victories

CANTON - The North Attleboro High wrestling team bounced back from Saturday's rare regular-season loss by taking care of Hockomock League foe Canton Wednesday, 50-15.
The Red Rocketeers (6-1) were coming off of a loss to league power Franklin Saturday, but got back in the win column thanks to the win over the Bulldogs. Shane Devlin had a solid win at 140 pounds, earning an 18-6 decision, while Rayshawn Green won the best match of the night, a 6-4 verdict over Canton's Will Alsano.
North Attleboro will take part in the Cumberland Invitational on Saturday.
The Warriors improved to 4-2-1 overall on the year with a 52-18 victory over Boston Latin. Conner David won again at 119 pounds to improve his record on the year to 12-0. David earned his 100th win of his career last week. Jonas Pierre, a freshman, earned his first win of the year with a pin at heavyweight while Austin Brais had an important upset victory at 130 pounds. The Warriors wrestle at the Nashoba Team Tournament on Saturday.
Winning the last three matches of the evening, kept its undefeated season intact with a 48-36 victory over Carver. The Cougars got big pinfall wins from freshmen Steve Hogan (130 pounds) and Justin Pothier (135) to tie the match at 36-all, then Matt Hogan scored the decisive points for Tri-County with his third-period pinfall win. The Cougars were fortunate to even be in a position to take the match as they won four weight classes by forfeit.
Tri-County (6-0) wrestles the Cumberland Invitational Saturday.
