NORTON - Matt Souza, Ryan Lawlor and Evan Grimes each captured first and second place finishes in guiding the Mansfield High boys' swimming team to a 90-78 victory over North Attleboro Tuesday in a Hockomock League meet at the Wheaton College Natatorium.

Souza won the 100 butterfly (59.28 seconds) and took second in the 500 freestyle. Lawlor won the 50 freestyle (25.69) and took second in the 100 freestyle, while Grimes won the 200 individual medley (2:30) and took second in the 100 breaststroke.

"They were deeper and better than us," said North coach Tim Kelley of the Hornets (4-1). Steve Hausmann won both the 200 and 500 freestyle events for the Rocketeers, while Peter Cheng won the 100 breaststroke.

The Hornets won two relays and had multiple placements in five events to emerge victorious, the Hornets' 200 medley relay team qualifying for the MIAA Meet and the 200 freestyle relay team qualifying for the South Sectional Meet.

The North Attleboro High girls' team similarly prevailed 90-78, having multiple placements in six events. Junior Jess Berkley paced the Rocketeers by winning both the 50 freestyle (25.84) and 100 breaststroke (1:15). Marylou Hedberg won the 100 freestyle and took second in the 200 freestyle. Two North seniors figured significantly as captain Shannon Moore clocked a personal-best in the 200 freestyle, while Sylvia Serafin took third in the 100 breaststroke and logged a personal best in the 100 butterfly.

Taylor Briseneo (200 freestyle, 100 butterfly) and Erica DeMunbrun (200 individual medley, 500 freestyle) each won two events for Mansfield, while Rose Aldo qualified for the South Sectional Meet in the 100 breaststroke.

- At Apponequet, freshman Rob Braza won two events with personal best performances, sophomore Ricky Mejia placed in two events and anchored the first place 400 freestyle relay team, while senior Justin Whitmarsh copped a first and second place, but ATTLEBORO (1-4) fell 101-77 to the Lakers in a Southern Conference meet.

Braza won both the 200 individual medley (2:21.5) and 100 breaststroke (1:13) with personal best performances, while Whitmarsh won the 100 freestyle (59.03) and took second in the 50 freestyle. The Bombardiers entertain Brockton Thursday at AHS' Dentch Natatorium.

- The BISHOP FEEHAN at Bishop Stang meet scheduled for the UMass-Dartmouth pool was postponed with no makeup date set. The unbeaten Shamrocks visit Westwood Thursday.
