Robert Gimler, 59

MANSFIELD - Robert W. Gimler, 59, a longtime resident of Mansfield, died unexpectedly on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Jackson) Gimler.

Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Foxboro High School and Lesley University.

He was a resident of Mansfield for 25 years after growing up in Foxboro. Mr. Gimler was a cost estimator for Senior Aerospace in Sharon for 12 years. He had formerly worked at the Northrop Company in Norwood for many years.

An avid fisherman, he loved trips to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Gimler is survived by his sons: Ryan W., Erik J. and Craig A. Gimler, all of Mansfield, and Robert, Sean and Derek Gimler.

He was the son of Elizabeth "Betty" (MacRae) Gimler of Foxboro and the late Robert L. Gimler.

He was the brother of Paul and Eric Gimler, both of North Attleboro, and Bruce Gimler of Foxboro.

His funeral, to which relative and friends are cordially invited, will be held on Friday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at noon in St. Mary's Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106), Mansfield.

Visiting hours are today, Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Burial will take place at Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxboro.

HOWELL TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Coleen L. Robinson, 56, of Howell Township, N.J., died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 at Rahway Hospital, Rahway, N.J., after a long illness.

She was born in Norwich, N.Y. and had resided in Massachusetts before moving to New Jersey in 1985.

She was a feature writer for The Sun Chronicle.

Coleen was a graduate of Franklin High School, Class of 1970. She was a member of the Attleboro Little Theater and Norton Singers.

She was a passionate singer and cook who loved to sing at gatherings and prepare meals for her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Marjorie McNulty, and her stepmother, Rose McNulty.

Surviving are her husband, Richard A. Robinson; four brothers: Peter McNulty of Englishtown, N.J., Michael McNulty and his fiance Pam of Oakland, N.J., Sean McNulty and his wife Jennifer of Bradley Beach, N.J. and Timothy McNulty and his wife Linda of Manalapan Township, N.J.; a sister, Kelly Dulovitz and her husband James of Manalapan Township, N.J.; and eight nieces and nephews: Ryan, John, Jeanette, Danielle, Nicole, Thomas, Maggie, and Christina.

The viewing will be held Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold, N.J.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 a.m., followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.

Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Charles Leach Jr., 90

DARTMOUTH - Charles H. "Buddy" Leach Jr., 90, of South Dartmouth, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Helen A. (Jones) Leach and son of the late Charles H. and Eva A. (Dunham) Leach Sr.

He was born in Halifax, and had lived in Dartmouth for many years.

He was a commercial fisherman for 30 years and then worked at Rodney Teledyne for 18 years. For many years, during the summer months, Mr. Leach was the assistant harbormaster for the Town of Dartmouth.

He also belonged to the Ham Radio Operators of America and the fishermen's union.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles H. Leach III of Mansfield; a daughter, Nancy Smith and her husband Howard of North Dartmouth; a sister, Regina Richardson Donovan of Carver; seven grandchildren: Robert, Randy, Roy and Rebecca Harrison, Katherine Smith O'Donnell and her husband Christopher, Jonathan Smith and his wife Kate (Martelly) Smith, Charles H. Leach IV; four great-grandchildren: Erin and Molly O'Donnell, and Jack and Sam Smith. He was the father of the late Carol A. Harrison and brother of the late Irene Wozniak.

A memorial service will be held in the spring.

Arrangements are by the Boulevard Funeral Home, New Bedford.

James Collins, 82

WRENTHAM - James Richard Collins, 82, of Wrentham, died on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at the Boston Medical Center in Boston. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley (Greenwood) Collins, who predeceased him in 1979.

Born in Newton on May 12, 1926, he was a son of the late Richard James and Victoria (Romaskiewicz) Collins.

Educated in Needham schools, he went on to serve in the U.S. Navy during World War II. At the time of his honorable discharge, he had attained the rank of machinist mate third class.

Jim at one time had the only licensed pub in the town of Needham, and for many years he owned and operated his business there under the name of Collins CafC3.

Formerly of Needham, and Hyde Park, he had also previously lived in Wrentham many years ago as well.

He was an active Wrentham senior citizen, and enjoyed the activities at the Wrentham Senior Center. He particularly enjoyed getting into a good card game with his friends at the center.

He is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Ann Collins of California; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Ann Murphy of South Boston; and for many years was the dearest of friends with Elizabeth Wisentaner, who was formerly of Dedham and Hyde Park.

Relatives and friends are invited Monday morning from 9 to 10 to the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South St., Route 1A, Wrentham Center. Father Chip Hines, pastor of St. Mary's Church in Wrentham, will conduct a wake vigil in the funeral home at 9:45 a.m.

Interment with military honors will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 11:30 a.m.

Lena Woloshyn, 86

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Lena E. (Miconi) Woloshyn, 86, of Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro, died unexpectedly at her residence on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008. She was the devoted and caring wife of Metro Woloshyn, to whom she was married on April 12, 1947.

Born in North Attleboro on Jan. 14, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Santo and Emma (Collito) Miconi. She was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro and attended St. Mary's Parochial School and was a 1940 graduate of North Attleboro High School.

Many years ago, Mrs. Woloshyn was employed as an accountant for the former Sears and Roebuck department store in North Attleboro for almost 20 years prior to her retirement in 1958, when the store relocated to the City of Attleboro.

Following her tenure with the store, Mrs. Woloshyn devoted her time to being a wonderful homemaker.

Mrs. Woloshyn was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in North Attleboro.

A woman of elegance and grace, she obtained her driver's license at the age of 50 and often assisted family members as a caregiver for many.

Her special interests included knitting, solving crossword puzzles, assembling jigsaw puzzles, reading, gardening and working around the house she and her husband created into a home.

She was a member of the Live Y'ers at the Hockomock Area YMCA in North Attleboro.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, she leaves numerous generations of nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Pauline M. Colletto, Joseph F. Miconi, Ralph Miconi and Daniel Miconi.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral on Monday, Dec. 22 at 7:45 a.m. from the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson House, 161 Commonwealth Ave. (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, 3/4 mile on left), Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Park Street, North Attleboro, with the Rev. David Costa, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.

Children's room is available while the funeral cortege is being organized.

Carol Amaral, 64

SEEKONK - Carol Ann (Erhardt) Amaral, 64, of Newman Avenue, Seekonk, died unexpectedly on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008 at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph C. Amaral, who died in 1981.

Born in Philadelphia on May 6, 1944, she was a daughter of Dr. John G. Erhardt of Seekonk and the late Eleanor (Tareila) Erhardt. A lifelong resident of Seekonk, Mrs. Amaral was a 1952 graduate of Seekonk High School.

Mrs. Amaral was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having enlisted on May 21, 1963 and served until her honorable discharge on June 17, 1964, achieving the rank of E-2.

Several years ago, she was employed as a home health aide for the Community Visiting Nurse Agency in Attleboro.

A devout Roman Catholic, Mrs. Amaral was devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Seekonk.

Although a lifelong New Englander, she admired and was an ardent fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.

A charitable woman, she will be remembered for her generosity and willingness to assist others.

An avid reader, Mrs. Amaral enjoyed writing short stories. Her favorite musicians included Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald.

In addition to her father, she leaves four children: Donna M. Matson of Seekonk, Stewart W. Wilson of Billerica, Robert J. Amaral of Seekonk and Liza E. Kane of Pawtucket; four grandchildren; and a sister, Linda Erhardt of Lincoln, R.I.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Saturday, Dec. 20 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Commonwealth Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson House, 161 Commonwealth Ave. (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, 3/4 mile on left), Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
