Invensys signs contract for Chinese nuclear plants

FOXBORO - Invensys Process Systems (IPS), a technology, software and consulting firm, will develop and implement four nuclear control rooms, with simulation technologies, critical control and safety systems, for two new nuclear power plant sites in China.

The agreement is worth about $250 million.

Under the purview of China National Nuclear Corp., the two projects, each of which will have two 1 GW plants, are contracted by China Nuclear Power Engineering Corp. China Nuclear Power Operation Technology Corp. will jointly design the plants.

IPS will provide an integrated technology platform for both safety and control systems.

The IPS solution also includes an advanced reactor protection system. IPS supplies control systems to more than 100 of the nearly 440 operating nuclear plants worldwide.

" It doesn't really matter, ever since President Clinton sold missile launch technology to them in 1992 in exchange for donations to the DNC. Remember Chinagate? After taking a vow of poverty, Nuns found millions to donate to the Clinton Campaign.

It is sad that they are allowed to build nuclear power plants, when we are not. Its also a shame that they have a more capitalist economy now than we do. "
