Joseph Rheaume, 82

ATTLEBORO - Joseph Rheaume, 82, of Wood Street, Attleboro, president of V-Tron Electronics Corporation, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor (Casper) Rheaume.

Born on Sept. 26, 1926, he was the son of the late Joseph D. Rheaume and Ida A. (Fisher) Rheaume. He was educated in the Attleboro public schools and was a graduate of Attleboro High School.

Joe served as a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Stationed in Italy, he was assigned to the 48th Troop Carrier Squadron as a staff sergeant, crew chief and aerial engineer. He was the president and co-founder of V-Tron Electronics Corporation, a cable systems and wire harnessing company located in South Attleboro.

Joe was known as a man of many talents and interests.

One of his accomplishments he was particularly proud of was his commercial pilot's license. In his younger days, he was an amateur race car driver, competing in the Modified Divisions at tracks such as Seekonk Speedway, Thompson Speedway, and Stafford Springs.

Joe's interests also included skiing. He was one of the original co-founders of the Attleboro Ski Club. He worked at the former Klebes Ski Barn and also instructed at the former Klein Innsbruck ski area.

Joe had an interest in carving, which inspired him to start the Yankee Wood Carvers Club, a group which met regularly at his company to share his passion for woodcarving.

Joe had a passion for German Shepherds and was an accomplished dog trainer, winning many awards with his prized dog Franz. He was a member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Rhode Island and served as drill instructor for the German Shepherd Drill Team of Rhode Island. He also was a trainer at the Obedience Dog Club of Rhode Island.

As an amateur magician, Joe belonged to the Rhode Island Chapter of the Society of American Magicians, and to Ring 122 of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

Joe also enjoyed golfing, barber shop singing and restoring vintage cars. His car restorations include several Ford Thunderbirds, Mercedes Benz and other models.

Even though he was active in many organizations and had several interests, Joe always understood the importance of family. He would perform magic tricks for the grandchildren, involved them in selecting wood for his carving, find time to spend with his family and enjoy their vacation home in Pocasset.

In addition to his wife Eleanor, Joe is survived by five children: Deirdre Doucette of Pocasset, Dale Rheaume of Attleboro, Karen Trinidad of South Attleboro, David Beauvais of Pocasset and Richard Beauvais of Attleboro; 10 grandchildren: Tara and Katelin Trinidad, Stephanie and David J. Beauvais, Joshua and Breonna Beauvais, Asher, Isaac and Vienne Doucette, and Kaleigh Jo Rheaume; and is also survived by a sister, Barbara Sheffield of Ft. Worth, Texas and a nephew, Douglas Gobin of Attleboro. He was the brother of the late Lillian Frigon and the late Helen Preston.

He also was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church of Attleboro.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, Jan. 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. in the Centenary United Methodist Church, 39 North Main St., Attleboro by the Rev. Nancy Collins, pastor. Private burial with full military honors will take place at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Frederica Currie, 78

LAKE WALES, FLA. - Frederica G. Currie, 78, of Lake Wales, Fla., passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 at Winter Haven Hospital.

She was born on Oct. 15, 1930 in Kearny, N.J., to the late Stephen and Dorothy (Kinsey) Gillick. She attended the Montclair State College in New Jersey and graduated from FDU in 1975 with a master's degree in English literature.

Frederica previously lived in North Attleboro and Madison, N.J. and currently resided in Lake Wales after moving from Port St. Lucie, Fla.

She was the university relations manager for FDU at the Madison campus and later was employed as an assistant advertising manager as Crosby Valve & Gage in Wrentham.

Under the pen name of Erica Kinsey, she was the published author of "A Loving Spirit" and "Lost & Found," and was working on her third book.

She was active in the American Association of University Women Lake Wales chapter, the Lake Wales Women's Club, the Lake Wales Arts Center and a past Matron of Eastern Star, Angle Stone Chapter 118. She also sang in the choir at the Church of the Good Shepherd.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Charles A. Currie Jr.

Survivors include her sons, Charles A. "Drew" Currie III of Methuen and Robert F. Currie and his wife Wendy of North Granby, Conn.; and four grandchildren, Mark, Andrew, Nichole and Kayla.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, with the Rev. Thomas C. Seitz Jr. officiating.

Dorothy Macomber, 89

MANSFIELD - Dorothy G. (Dunne) Macomber, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, died surrounded by her adoring family at home on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009. She was the beloved wife of the late Clarence E. Macomber, to whom she had shared 49 years of marriage with at the time of his death on June 5, 1990.

Born in Mansfield on Sept. 27, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude (McPherson) Dunne.

She was a graduate of Mansfield High School, and in addition to being a dedicated homemaker to her family, Mrs. Macomber had also worked at the former Rose Garden Restaurant in Mansfield, the Doolittle Home in Foxboro, at Dustin Greenhouses in East Mansfield and also in private home care.

A communicant of St. Mary's Church in Mansfield, she enjoyed knitting, gardening and being in the presence of her loving family.

She is survived by her devoted children, Wanda G. Maloon of Mansfield, Francis E. Macomber and his wife Christine of Pennsylvania, Joanne Neipris and her husband Michael of Foxboro, Donna L. Askew of Mansfield and the late Peter E. Macomber. Also surviving is her dear daughter-in-law, Janet Macomber of Mansfield, and her cherished 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of her family in St. Mary's Cemetery, Mansfield.

Stephanie Sekula, 91

WRENTHAM - Stephanie T. Sekula, 91, of Indian Lane, Rehoboth, and a longtime Lake Street, Wrentham resident, died on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 at Life Care of Attleboro. She was the beloved widow of Anthony S. Sekula.

Born in Chicopee on Dec. 20, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Sypec) Swol.

For many years and until retiring, Mrs. Sekula had worked in the kitchen of the former Wrentham State School, now the Wrentham Developmental Center.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Wrentham.

Much of her enjoyment in life had been derived from being with and caring for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children, Matthew G. "Bobby" Sekula of Wrentham and Jane Elizabeth Foster of Rehoboth. She was the devoted grandmother of seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South St. (Route 1A), Wrentham Center on Friday, Jan. 30 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 140 South St., Wrentham Center.

Richard W. Mueller Jr. 65

SATSUMA, FLA. - Richard William Mueller Jr., 65, of Satsuma, Fla. died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 19, 2009 at the Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla.

He was the brother of Judy Corbett of Attleboro and the longtime companion of Mary Steele of Welaka, Fla.

Born in Attleboro on Dec. 12, 1943, he was the son of the late Richard W. Mueller Sr. and Alice Aleda Croteau.

Mr. Mueller attended Attleboro public schools, and graduated from Attleboro High School in 1961.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1961 to 1965.

He was an avid golfer and an accomplished professional bass fisherman.

Prior to working as a professional guide for CSX Corporation in Florida, Mr. Mueller regularly competed in organized bass fishing tournaments in the Northeast.

He was recognized among the region's most skilled anglers during the mid-80s. While being a member and former president of the Bass Assassins Fishing Club, he won three different Massachusetts Bass Federation tournaments and finished in the top 10 on numerous occasions. Mr. Mueller won the prestigious Angler of the Year Award from the North American Bass Association for the highest point total following five tournaments, held across the Northeast in 1987.

Mr. Mueller successfully guided for corporate and private clients until his passing.

He will be missed by his family, friends and numerous fishing colleagues and clients.

In addition to his sister, Mr. Mueller leaves two nephews, Jeffrey Corbett of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Gregory Corbett of Attleboro.

He was the husband of the late Mary Clarkin.

Roger Grzyb, 81

ATTLEBORO - Roger Daniel Grzyb, 81, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 surrounded by his loving family.

Roger is survived by his wife of 52 years, Edna (Mathurin); two children, Jessica and Jonathan; their spouses, Paul and Deborah; four grandsons, Nathan, Zachary, Benjamin and Matthew, and his mother-in-law, Alice Mathurin.

Roger was a gifted musician and pianist whose inspiration, talent and legacy live on through his family, friends and the many pupils who he helped to add music to the world. He was loved dearly and will be missed greatly.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral services and a memorial will be private.

The obituary was written with love by Roger's family.
