Thanks for coming through for Lenore'sTo the editor: Another year has come and gone, and a new one has begun. This past year has been a very difficult one for many people, but as usual, the wonderful people and businesses of North Attleboro, and surrounding communities, have stepped forward to help those who are in need through Lenore's Pantry.
For Thanksgiving, 71 households were provided assistance through the generous donations of many thoughtful people and community groups. Each family received a basket or bag of groceries for a Thanksgiving dinner and grocery store gift cards.
At Christmas, the outpouring of concern for our neighbors in need was overwhelming! During December, for the holidays, 97 households received grocery store gift cards and Wal-Mart gift cards, along with bags of food, pajamas, hats and mittens and toys for the children.
In addition to these special distributions, thanks to your many donations throughout the year, each month Lenore's Pantry helps 85 to 95 families with regular food assistance.
It is heartwarming to see the overwhelming outpouring of assistance from this community. Our sincere thanks to all of you who have made this possible by your generous donations. From all of us here at Lenore's Pantry at the Board of Health, our best wishes to you and yours for a happy and healthy new year. Thank you to everyone!
