ATTLEBORO - Registration is now being accepted for the 2009 SMARTS Summer Institute.

The program provides students with an opportunity to study creative writing, dance, drama, film/video, instrumental, strings, vocal, and visual arts at three levels.

The elementary program is for students in kindergarten to grades 3 and runs from July 6 to July 24. The junior program is for students in grades 3 to 8 and runs from July 6 to July 31. The senior drama and film program is for students in grades 7 to 12 and runs July 6 to July 31, and the senior dance and instrumental program runs from July 6 to July 17.

All programs are held Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Brennan Middle School. Before and after care is available.

The SMARTS Summer Institute emphasizes the importance of process rather than product. The theme this summer is "Anything Is Possible." Scholarships for summer programs are available through the SMARTS office.
