Man charged with DUI, child endangerment

ATTLEBORO - A Taunton man was arraigned Monday on drunken driving and child endangerment charges following an auto accident in North Attleboro over the weekend.

Brian M. Francis, 25, of 35 Pilgrim Village Road in Taunton, pleaded innocent in Attleboro District Court, according to court records.

Francis allegedly struck the rear of a car on Route 1 near Smith Street around 6:30 p.m. Friday. No one was injured, according to police.

A passenger in Francis' pickup truck was a 10-year-old boy who is the son of a friend, according to court records. He is due back in court May 4 with a lawyer.

" And because he is of legal drinking age this story gets buried. He could have killed people...unlike kids at a sleepover party. If he was 18 and attended Attle High the story would have been on the front page and the entire community would express their outrage. "
