Belichick's son arrested at stadium lacrosse event

Teen faces underage alcohol charge
FOXBORO - A son of New England Patriots head football coach Bill Belichick was one of several people arrested at this weekend's NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship games at Gillette Stadium.

Brian C. Belichick, 17, of Weston, was arrested by Foxboro police Monday and charged with being under 21 in the possession of alcohol, subsequent offense, according to the police department.

Belichick, who attends The Rivers School in Weston where he plays lacrosse, and the others arrested were arraigned Tuesday in Wrentham District Court.

About 32,000 fans attended the Division I lacrosse final in which defending champion Syracuse edged out Cornell in overtime.

Bill Belichick is a big lacrosse fan who coached his three children in the sport and played a key role bringing the lacrosse championships to Gillette Stadium the past two years. He grew up in Annapolis, Md., which is a hotbed for the sport and played it in high school and college.

" I dont think this kid should have any special treatment. Where is his picture? Why isnt it posted like all the the other offenders from N. Attleboro, Plainville, etc? Im sure he will get away from the charges of course! Wonder what all the Meyer supporters think of this kid and if they are going to knock on his dads home and preach to him all the harm underage drinking causes? I doubt it! Boo Hoo throw the book at him like all the rest. LMAO "

" Sorry, pal, but he's not a minor in this case. Besides, the negative publicity may shake his father out of denial and force him to get his kid some help with an alcohol problem that the Rivers School isn't capable of handling. Celebrity has two faces. "

" At 17 he's not a minor under the tabloid news rule. And the others who were arrested should also be made public. What's the Sun afraid of? "

" Ahh tabloid journalism at its best! Nice that also included the words :subsequent offense" as well.

I agree list all of them or none of them. "

" Correct me if I'm wrong, but the names of minors who have committed any crime are NOT supposed to be made public knowledge. So just because he is the son of Bill Belichick makes it alright? I don't think so. And what about all the other minors that were arrested for the same offense that night? Why aren't their names listed along with Brian Belichicks in this article??? "
