ATTLEBORO - Seniors Trenna Schmitt and Janelle McNeil each won two events as the unbeaten Bishop Feehan High girls' spring track team produced an 84-52 victory over Martha's Vineyard Wednesday in a non-league meet at McGrath Stadium.

Schmitt won both the long jump and 100 hurdles and McNeil won both the triple jump and 400 for the Shamrocks, who are now at 10-0 on the season.

In addition, Shamrock junior Melissa Ellis won both the shot put and discus (a personal best 88-6) events, while freshman Katie Powell won both the 800 and javelin (a personal best 80-6). The Shamrocks will host the EAC Championship Meet Saturday, starting at 1 p.m.

The also unbeaten Shamrocks boys (8-0) were even more dominant, sweeping nine events en route to a 113-23 victory.

Jason Brown enjoyed a standout afternoon, winning the long jump (18-9), triple jump (41-6) 110 hurdles (15.5) and placed second in the 100 dash. Pat Beksha won the discus (105-2) and placed second in the shot put. - At the Tri-Valley League Championship Meet, the NORTON Lancers finished fifth, winning two individual events and setting a school record in winning the 4x400 relay. Gil O'Neil set at Norton High and TVL Meet record in winning the 800 meter run at 1:57.53. Emerson Almeida won the 400 meter run at 50.37 seconds and then came back to clock a 50.9 second anchor leg time for the title-taking, record-setting 4x400 relay team.

Similarly, the Norton girls' team finished fifth. Kelly Allen won the discus event by a margin of 23-feet with a throw of 140-feet, 2-inches and also finished second in the shot put. Caroline Allen (200) and Courtney Williams (100) also both had runner-up finishes for the Lancers.

- Johnny Gregorek ran the fastest time in the state and fifth fastest in the nation this spring in the two mile for SEEKONK as the Warriors beat Old Rochester 80-50 in a South Coast Conference meet. Jake and Joe Teixeira each won two events for the Warriors (6-2), which had personal best times by the entire 800 contingent of runners. Seekonk travels to Greater New Bedford Voke Saturday for the SCC Championship Meet.

In a meet Tuesday night, the Seekonk girls (7-1) raced past the Bulldogs, 79-57. Krista Chauvin won the javelin in a personal-best 111-4 and the discus at 120-11, the latter placing her second all-time in the Seekonk record books. Janelle Clarkson added a winning leap of 5-2 in the high jump and Julie Deleo's 91-9 discus toss was a personal best, good for second place.
