Wanted: More sponsors for Expo for the Senses
![]() Top Headlines Sponsors will get their business logos imprinted on the back of bright yellow Expo T-shirts that will be sold as souvenirs of the downtown event on June 27. The city needs 10 sponsors. A sponsorship costs $500, but Dianne Thurber, Expo public relations director, said the shirts will provide long term advertising not just in the city, but potentially throughout the three counties in which officials are aiming to attract attendees. Three sponsorships have been sold already, Thurber said. Sponsors also get a table during the event, which is family-friendly and focuses on music, food, arts, crafts, painting, the jewelry industry and a number of events geared especially for children, including a zoo exhibit of small animals. While the city has gotten a $25,000 grant to fund much of the event, it needs to raise additional cash to meet all its expenses. A raffle will be held, which includes a diamond-encrusted white gold ring worth about $2,000. To view the T-shirts and download a sponsor application form, go the the city's Web site at www.cityofattleboro.us. Thurber can be reached at 508-399-7300 or at dianne@cardinalmarketing.com Admission and parking for the event are free. The Expo is handicapped accessible and products that can be recycled will be used to reduce trash. The Expo for the Senses is funded in part through a grant from the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism, and administered through the Southeastern Massachusetts Convention & Visitors Bureau, the regional tourism council of Bristol County, in partnership with the City of Attleboro.
