FOXBORO - John Rhoads, a civil engineer with nearly 40 years of professional experience, has been appointed alternate member of the planning board.
His term will be through May 1, 2010.
Selectmen and the planning board voted unanimously to welcome Rhoads to fill the seat vacated by Gordon Greene when Green was elected a regular board member in May's annual town election.
Rhoads, of 23 Forest Road, is a senior project manager for Norwood Engineering Co., which works primarily with land developers.
Rhoads stressed that he would recuse himself from participation in any matter involving his business associations.
