REHOBOTH - An East Providence, R.I., man was arrested after allegedly breaking into a Rehoboth home.

Police responded to a call Saturday from a woman who said her ex-husband had entered the home and garage, removed property and damaged her vehicle.

The suspect had fled by then, but police broadcasted a description to departments in surrounding communities.

A suspect, Justin D. Escobar, 27, was stopped in his vehicle by East Providence police a short time later.

Escobar was held over the weekend in Rhode Island and was arraigned in Providence Court on Monday. He waived extradition and voluntarily returned to Massachusetts. Escobar was arraigned in Taunton District Court on Tuesday and charged with breaking and entering, larceny over $250, destruction of property and violation of a restraining order.
