Russell John April, 66
ATTLEBORO - Russell John April, 66, of Slater Street, Attleboro, died on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at his residence surrounded by the love of his family with the same dignity and faith in which he lived his life. He was the beloved husband of Janet Doris (Raymond) April to whom he was married at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in the Dodgeville section of the City of Attleboro on April 18, 1964.
Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on December 13, 1942, Mr. April was the son of Doris J. (Holehouse) April of Attleboro and the late John Joseph April. He was a lifelong resident of his native city and was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Central Falls, Rhode Island. He earned an associate's degree in liberal arts from Dean Junior College in Franklin.
A lifelong communicant of St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, Mr. April received all of his sacraments at the family parish. A man of strong religious and spiritual beliefs, he was an active member of the church community for decades. In his youth he served as an altar boy and in adulthood was a tireless volunteer, having served as an usher, CCD teacher, Eucharistic Minister, choir member and member and president of the CYO.
For decades, Mr. April was a devoted and dedicated member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He served as the past president of the Attleboro District and was the vice president, secretary and treasurer of the Central Council of the Fall River Diocese.
For his numerous selfless acts of charity, Mr. April was awarded the prestigious Top Hat Award on April 22, 1990 and once again on July 24, 1991 for outstanding Vincentian service and following in the foot steps of Frederick Ozanam.
On August 22, 2007 he was honored for his Jubilarian anniversary with the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
He was the recipient of the Marian Medal award from Bishop Sean O'Malley in recognition of personal dedication and loyal service to the parish and Diocese.
Mr. April was employed as the general manager of New England Plastic Coated Products in Norton for 18 years until illness forced his retirement in 1996.
Previously, he was employed as a purchasing agent for companies in Attleboro, North Attleboro and Providence, Rhode Island.
He leaves a legacy of a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend to many.
An action oriented man; he devoted his life to his family and church. Times spent gardening and playing golf were among his favorite pastimes.
In addition to his wife of 45 years and his mother, he leaves a son: Mark R. April and his wife, Alicia C. Coughlin, of North Attleboro; a daughter: Karen A. April and her husband, David P. Dragun, of Attleboro; three grandchildren: Wesley R. April of New Port Ritchie, Florida; Stephen M. April of North Attleboro and Christopher C. April of North Attleboro; a brother: Robert N. April and his wife, Anne E. (Maxwell) April, of Attleboro; three nieces and extended family members and countless friends who supported him through the challenges of illness.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, June 19, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, 3/4 mile on left), Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.

Family and friends are invited to the funeral service on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 7:45 a.m. from the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, 3/4 mile on left), Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9 a.m. at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, 683 South Main Street - Route 152, Attleboro with the Rev. James Morse, pastor, officiating.
The funeral procession will proceed via foot to St. Stephen's Cemetery for graveside services following Mass.
A children's room will be available during both visitation and the funeral service.
Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.

Aldora Marie Buebendorf, 99
ATTLEBORO - Aldora Marie Buebendorf, 99, died on June 17, 2009.
Aldora was a homemaker and weaver. She was the wife of the late Olier L. Frechette, Octave Therrien, and Charles Buebendorf.
She is survived by her son Armand Frechette, his wife Irene; three grandchildren, Christopher Frechette and his wife Margaret Lopez; Carlene Murray and her husband David and Catherine Healey and her husband Richard. Aldora had two great grandchildren, Sarah and Timothy Ringuette.
She was born in Woonsocket, RI on June 7, 1910, the daughter of the late Victoria and Ceril Proulx. She is predeceased by two brothers, David and Eugene Proulx and six sisters, Blanche Denault, Alice Fluette, Helen Miranda, Cecile Plante, Antoinette Mondeaux and Leona LaFleur.
Funeral arrangements are being made by the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI.
Calling hours are being omitted, the funeral will be private.

Joseph J. Coyne, 85
NORWOOD - Joseph J. Coyne, 85, of Norwood died June 16, 2009. He was the devoted husband of the late Margaret F. (Nogler) Coyne.
He was the loving father of Joseph J. Coyne Jr. of Norwood, Margaret F. Anderson of Yarmouth, Linda McAuliffe of New York, Coleman D. Coyne of Florida, Kevin Coyne of Mansfield, Karen Finley of Norwood, Anne Babineau of New York and Catherine Coakley of South Attleboro; the beloved brother of the late Mary Gates; and is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St. (Route 1A), Norwood will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 8 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Norwood at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 19 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Coyne was a retired police officer for the Town of Norwood.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was a member of the VFW and the Retired Men's Club.
Joe enjoyed bowling with the Retired Men's Club, and a round of golf.

Concetta M. "Connie"
(Marzuolo) Lorusso, 79
NORFOLK - Concetta M. "Connie" (Marzuolo) Lorusso, 79, of Norfolk, died suddenly at her residence on Tuesday, June 16, 2009. She was the wife of the Carmine Lorusso Jr., who died in August 2008.
Born in Cambridge, December 20, 1929 a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Toppi) Marzuolo, she was raised and educated in Norwood, and had lived in Norfolk for over 49 years.
Mrs. Lorusso worked for the family business C. Lorusso & Sons, as the office manager.
She enjoyed spending time with family, loved to travel and play bingo.
She is survived by four sons, Anthony Lorusso and his wife Joan of Norfolk, David Lorusso and his wife Cathy of Rochester, NY, Richard C. Lorusso of Wrentham, Gerald Lorusso and his wife Marianne of Naples, Fla.; two daughters, Linda King and her husband Greg and Connie Marcotte and her husband Bob, all of Norfolk; two brothers, Lawrence Marzuolo of Norwood, Anthony "Sonny" Marauolo of Franklin; a sister, Josephine "Dolly" Bradley of North Attleboro; and 15 grandchildren.
She was also the mother of the late John J. Lorusso and Carmine "Chuck" Lorusso III, and the sister of the late John Marzuolo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday June 20, at 9:15 a.m. from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. (www.franklinfuneral.com), with a funeral Mass in St. Jude Church 86 Main St. Norfolk at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery, Franklin.

Paul Redkovich, 83
CUMBERLAND, R.I. - Paul Redkovich, 83, of Cumberland passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 16, 2009. He was the husband of the late Barbara (McBride) Redkovich.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Feodor and Pauline (Pilz) Redkovich.
Mr. Redkovich was a construction superintendent for HM Soule and Marshal Contractors for forty years before retiring. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II, serving with the 490th Bombing Group.
He was a longtime member and past president of the Beagle Club, Cumberland. He was a Rhode Island State Marksmen for forty years.
He is survived by his children, Paul Redkovich II, Sharon and Paul Oliveira, his grandchildren, Steven and Elyse Oliveira and Kate and Marty Pyne.
He was the brother of the late Fred Redkovich.
The funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road (Route 122), Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland.
Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, North Attleboro, MA. Relatives and friends are invited.
