Top Headlines Marion "Sweetie" Rice, 90 NORTH WOODSTOCK, N.H. - Marion "Sweetie" (Greeley) Rice, 90, formerly of North Woodstock, NH and North Attleboro, Mass. died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Lafayette Center Genesis Eldercare, Franconia, NH following a long illness. She was born in Albany, NY on October 31, 1918 the daughter of Dana and Alleta (Baker) Greeley. Marion grew up in Foxboro, MA and was a 1936 graduate of Foxboro High School. Marion raised her family on Bungay Lake in North Attleboro MA and worked many years at the Foxboro Company, Foxboro, MA. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Foxboro, MA. In 1983 she and her husband Warren retired to North Woodstock, NH where they helped restore the Woodstock Inn Station and Brewery. Marion owned and operated the former Wash Works Laundromat on Main Street in North Woodstock. Marion was an avid gardener and loved country music especially Glen Campbell. Her grandchildren were very special to her. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Warren H. Rice in October 1988 and by her sister, Carolyn Draper. Marion is survived by: her son, Scott G. Rice and his wife Peggy of North Woodstock, NH; her daughter, Janet Mourtada and her husband, Norman of Foxboro, MA; her sister, Audrey Greeley of Foxboro, MA; her grandson, Keegan Rice and granddaughter, Molly Rice of North Woodstock, NH; her granddaughter, Caroline Mourtada and grandson, Jacob Mourtada of Foxboro, MA; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and relatives are invited to call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 29 at the Edmund K. Fournier Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, North Woodstock, NH. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30 with the Rev. Ray Bandi, pastor of the New Hope Fellowship, Campton, NH officiating. Committal services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, at the Sheppardsville Cemetery, Kelley Blvd., Plainville, MA. (MacDonald) Morrison Allan, 97, died in her Taunton, Mass., home on Sunday, June 21, 2009. Born in North Attleboro, Mass. on June 16, 1912, she was the daughter of the late John and Sophronia (Haggaman) MacDonald. She graduated from North Attleboro High School with the Class of 1930. She had been living in Taunton for the past four years, moving there from Walpole, Mass., where she was a resident for 20 years. She worked for Becton and Dickenson, a medical supply company, as an assembler for 12 years. Mrs. Allan enjoyed bowling, camping, crafts, and working with oil paints. Beloved wife of the late Paul Morrison and the late Vaughn Allan; loving mother of Janet L. Rowell of Taunton, the late Joan Mandes, the late Jean Howes, the late Joyce Desmaris and the late Judy Morrison; cherished grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great-grandmother of many; sister of the late Carl MacDonald, Howard MacDonald, Ernest MacDonald, Lillian Walsh and Maude MacDonald; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Memorial Service that will be held Saturday, June 27 at 10 a.m. in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common St., Walpole. Visiting hours are omitted at the request of the family. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Attleboro Falls. Stanley J. Machowski, 86 ATTLEBORO - Stanley J. Machowski, 86, of Gardner Avenue passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Born in Attleboro he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Moskal) Machowski. He was a lifelong resident of South Attleboro. Before retiring he was employed as a machine operator for Fortifiber Mfg. of Attleboro for 40 years. He was a World War II Army antitank gun crewman serving with the 66th Infantry Division in Europe. He was a member of American Legion Post #312 of South Attleboro. He leaves his loving sister and brother Julia A. Machowski and Henry S. Machowski both of South Attleboro, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Josephine St. Andre, William E. and Frank S. Machowski. His funeral will be held Saturday June 27, 2009 at 9 a.m. from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church 391 High Street Central Falls at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. Calvary Cemetery Cumberland. Kathleen A. Voegtlin, 45 NORTON - Kathleen A. (McEachern) Voegtlin, 45, of Norton formerly of Falmouth passed away courageously on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was the beloved wife of David K. Voegtlin to whom she was wed on October 5, 1991. Born in Falmouth, MA on April 4, 1964 she was a dear daughter of William and Mary (Coakley) McEachern of Falmouth. She grew up in Falmouth, was educated in Falmouth public schools and was a 1982 graduate of Falmouth High School. Kathy furthered her studies to receive her degree in social work at Bridgewater State College and also had the opportunity to study abroad in Ireland. Before becoming a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family Kathleen had worked in marketing and sales. Active in Norton affairs since moving to the community in 1994 she was the co-founder of NEED, Inc. (Norton Embracing Educational Development) and was the coordinator of the Shade Program, a sun safety awareness program. A former member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton she had also served on various committees at the church. An ardent outdoors person her hobbies included her love for cycling, skiing, hiking and working out at the gym. She was quite artistic and especially enjoyed pottery. Her greatest joy in life was watching her sons grow up and participating as a volunteer at their schools. In addition to her husband and parents she is survived by her cherished sons Kenneth W. Voegtlin and Matthew D. Voegtlin both of Norton. She was the sister of John McEachern, Susan Sullivan, Anne McElroy and the late Robert McEachern and William McEachern and is also survived by her in-laws Kenneth Voegtlin and his wife Sonia of New Hampshire and Anna Swan and her husband Morrill of Maine, her sister-in-law Andrea Voegtlin of Nahant and one niece. Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday June 29 at 11 a.m. in the Trinitarian Congregational Church, East Main and Pine streets, Norton. Burial will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton. (Goyea) Kingsbury, 92, a lifelong resident of Mansfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at the Golden Living Center Garden Place in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth H. Kingsbury to whom she was wed for 51 years at the time of his death in 1989. Born Mansfield, MA on March 28, 1917 she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Louise (Emmin) Goyea. She was a graduate of Mansfield High School and prior to retiring had been employed for 27 years in housekeeping records for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the former Foxboro State Hospital prior to retiring in 1978. A communicant of St. Mary's Church in Mansfield, her loving sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the fibers of her life. For many years Mabel enjoyed the wonderful summers spent in Maine and wintering in the Florida Keys. Her hobbies included crocheting; she was an avid reader and was a former longtime member of the Mansfield Grange. Mrs. Kingsbury is survived by her devoted sons Lee K. Kingsbury of Maine, Dennis E. Kingsbury of South Attleboro and Bruce W. Kingsbury of Mansfield. She was the sister of the late George Goyea, Elmer Goyea, Wilfred Goyea, Louise Cassidy, Florence Boucher, Lucy Henning and Raymond Goyea. Additional survivors include her cherished 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her extended sons Dana Estlick, Eric Collins, Robert Babineau, Jim Sasso, Jim Moyanahan, Gil Wrigley, Paul Miller and Alan Cote. Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday June 29 at 8 a.m. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Mansfield. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday June 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
