Top Headlines Gaylord F. (Moreland) Hogarth, 95 NORTON - Gaylord F. (Moreland) Hogarth, 95, of Norton and a former longtime resident of Needham passed away on Saturday June 27, 2009 at the Epoch Senior Care Center in Norton. She was the beloved wife of the late William O. Hogarth to whom she was married for 61 years at the time of his death in 1995. Born in Naugatuck, Connecticut on June 22, 1914, Gay originally resided in Cheshire, Connecticut until her husband was discharged from the Army in 1946. Mr. and Mrs. Hogarth then moved to Needham where she resided for 56 years before moving to the Epoch Center in Norton in 2002. An avid golfer, Gay spent many years as a volunteer at the Pleasant Valley Golf Classic in Sutton. Following her husband's retirement, they spent winters in Florida where they enjoyed playing golf and spending time with their grandchildren. While a resident of the Epoch Center, Gay shared her love of golf by teaching other residents the sport. In addition to spending time with her loving family Mrs. Hogarth was also a fluent traveler. She is survived by her devoted children William G. Hogarth of Attleboro, Phyllis Klinges of Doylestown, Pennsylvania and the Rev. David Hogarth of the Wollaston section of Quincy. The cherished grandmother of Heidi Mahoney of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Thomas William Hogarth of Truckee, California, Jill Andrea Carrillo of Shirley, Jessica May Murray of Quincy and Sara Jane Shultz of Mertztown, Pennsylvania, she is also survived by nine great-grandchildren. Private services and burial will be held in Connecticut at the convenience of her family. There will be no visitation. Marjorie Chace, 91 MANSFIELD - Marjorie Chace, a longtime resident of Mansfield who lived with her daughter Terre and son-in-law Joe the last 10 years in Snellville, GA, died on Monday, June 29 at the Sunrise Senior Living Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She was 91. Mrs. Chace was the loving wife of the late Edward Chace and survived the passing of her son Tony Chace. Born in Mansfield on January 19, 1918, Mrs. Chace was the daughter of the late Clarence and Harriet (White) Ellis. She attended Mansfield schools and graduated with the Class of 1936. Mrs. Chace enjoyed traveling and spending time her family. She was a lifetime communicant of St. Mary's Church in Mansfield. Mrs. Chace is survived by her daughter Terre and son-in-law Joe Wolak of Snellville, GA; her daughter Deborah and son-in-law John Gardner of Cicero, NY; her son Bill Chace of Glendale, AZ; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Virginia Keating of Mansfield. Her funeral will be from the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 North Main St., Mansfield on Friday, July 3 at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 330 Pratt St. (Rte. 106), Mansfield at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours are omitted. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Mansfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, FL 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
