Post 93 notches 7th straight

FRANKLIN - There was no luck needed as American Legion Post 93 won its seventh straight baseball game, routing Franklin 11-4 on Sunday.

Post 93 (7-1) used a nine-run third inning, that included two home runs, to put away Franklin. Chuck Erickson got the fireworks started with a two-run blast, Dan Gad and Mike Farrell chipped in two-run singles and Jimmy Gilmore topped things off with a three-run bomb. Every starter had at least one hit for Foxboro.

Farrell, making his first-ever Legion pitching start, picked up the win and chipped in two hits to his own cause. Foxboro is at Norfolk today, game time 5:55 p.m.

Medfield 3, Norfolk 2

NORFOLK - In another District 6 West matchup, Norfolk couldn't string together enough hits in falling to visiting Medfield.

Norfolk scored both its runs in the sixth inning. Connor Richards doubled and scored on a single by Chris Ford (2-for-3). Following a fielder's choice and single by Greg Davey, Ford scored on a sacrifice fly by Joe Tornavene.

Norfolk (7-7) plays host to red-hot Foxboro tonight at 5:55 p.m. at Freeman-Centennial Field.
