ATTLEBORO - The key to earning a spot on the Sun Chronicle's softball all-star team? Apparently, it's to wear green and gold.

Bishop Feehan, Dighton-Rehoboth and King Philip all sport those colors on the diamond, and the trio of schools combined for fifteen all-star selections this year.

Of course, the trio's team success certainly doesn't hurt either.

The Warriors of King Philip lead the way with six selections to this team, and with good reason. The Warriors were undefeated in the regular season this year and made it to the South Sectional quarterfinals before being upset by Brockton, going 21-1 on the year.

Junior Maggie Quealy was nearly unhittable on the mound for King Philip, throwing a perfect game in the postseason to go with three no-hitters on the year as she posted a tiny 1.02 ERA. Cara Daly gave the junior plenty of offensive help with 36 RBI and 22 runs scored, while Casey McCourt posted a .538 batting average. Sarah Hedtler was a key cog for the Warriors at the top of the lineup, hitting .571 and scoring 26 runs with just one strikeout while a pair of young players made their all-star debuts for King Philip in sophomore Anna Kelley and freshman Olivia Godin.
The Falcons of Dighton-Rehoboth were the furthest advancing team in the area, making it all the way to the sectional semi-finals before a tough 5-4 loss in extra innings to Norwood knocked D-R out as the Falcons finished the season 20-3.

For their success the Falcons were rewarded with five all-star selections. Jen Lundstrom led D-R on the mound all season, amassing 18 wins with a 1.14 ERA and striking out 138. Four of her fielders joined her on the team. Tori Rocha, a junior, is a repeat all-star after hitting .462 on the season at second base, while Jenna Rocha knocked in 19 runs and scored 19, playing shortstop and hitting fourth in the order. Brittany Noons was a force defensively as a catcher, while Meg Roy was a solid defensive first baseman, committing no errors while totaling 20 RBI.

Four members of the tournament team from Bishop Feehan were selected. Kayla Holland both pitched and played second for the Shamrocks while hitting in the third slot in the lineup, while sophomore Tiffany Agostini hit right behind her and hit .540, leading the team in RBI. Two senior captains round out the Shamrock selections in Colleen Bilafer and Lexy Sturdy.

Three Mansfield Hornets made the cut, including two freshman. Rebecca Levine, a junior, was the oldest Hornet selected after a 12-7 performance on the mound with a 1.31 ERA. Freshmen Briana Chiusano and Kelly English joined her on the squad.

Devin Azulay, just a junior, is already a three-time selection after another great season for Attleboro, the Bombardiers only selection. Lauren Medeiros was the sole member of the Seekonk Warriors selected, the fourth appearance for the senior while Casey Remick of Norton, also a senior, was selected for the first time.
