'Taken' an excellent summer rental

It is a parent’s worst nightmare for their child to be abducted, and that is what happens to Bryan Mills (played by Liam Neeson) when his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) is “taken” in Paris. What the abductors don’t know, however, is that Kim’s father is a retired Secret Service agent.

During a phone conversation with the kidnappers, Mills says, “If you let my daughter go now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.”

The people who kidnap his daughter take women and force them to become addicted to drugs in order to sell them off as sex slaves.

The movie picks up with fast-paced, hard-hitting action and crazy twists and turns, then a nicely put together ending.

There is a lot of on-screen chemistry with all the actors and this movie goes by fast. With every step Mills takes, there is suspense that has the viewers a little jumpy over what could be coming next. This movie was excellent and no matter what you are planning to do tonight, forget it and go rent it.

Approximately 93 minutes long, “Taken” is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence, sexual content, drug references, and language.

It can be found in most retail stores for about $20.
