Ben Stiller and Amy Adams in 'Night at the Museum 2.'
Ben Stiller returns as Larry Daly in "Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian," a sequel to the 2006 film "Night at the Museum."
This funny and entertaining adventure film directed by Shawn Levy takes place in Washington D.C., where exhibits at the Smithsonian Institution suddenly erupt into life.
No longer a nighttime security guard at the Museum of Natural History in New York City, Stiller is now a successful entrepreneur, coming up with gadgets like glow-in-the-dark flashlights.
He still, however, manages to visit his "friends" Jedediah (Owen Wilson), Octavius (Steve Coogan) and Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams) from time to time, and finds out museum Director Dr. McPhee (Ricky Gervais) is planning to ship his friends off to the Smithsonian for permanent storage.
Daly, compelled to do something about it, travels to the Smithsonian to save the day. There, he meets thrill-seeking Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams), who develops a crush on him, and Civil War Gen. George Custer (Bill Hader). The villain, an ancient Egyptian pharaoh named Kahmunrah (Hank Azaria), enlists the help of fellow "baddies" Napoleon (Alain Chabat), Ivan the Terrible (Christopher Guest), and Al Capone (Joe Bernthal) to help him take over the world.
IMDB gave "Night at the Museum 2" six out of 10 stars. The 105-minute family film is one that all will enjoy.
