MILFORD - The reigning MIAA state champion in the 100 butterfly, Bishop Feehan High's Kendra Cheng, finally got an opportunity to hone her skills in that event Tuesday.

Cheng clocked a first place time of 59.22 seconds in leading the unbeaten (8-0) Shamrocks to a 95-82 victory at Milford in a Southern Conference meet.

Cheng also swam a leg for the first-place 200 medley relay. Caroline Capece won the 100 freestyle (1:02) and took second in the 50 freestyle. Caitlin Callanan clocked a 5:41 time to win the 500 freestyle, while Caroline Steiner finished with a strong second place in the 200 individual medley.

The Shamrocks return to the pool Thursday, hosting Apponequet at Attleboro's Dentch Natatorium.

Emily Fullerton took second in the 100 backstroke and third in the 50 freestyle for the Bombardiers, while Kaeli Sargent had third place finishes in both the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly.
