Hewitt promoted at Mechanics

TAUNTON - Mechanics Cooperative Bank's Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team are pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew C. Hewitt as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
In announcing the Bank's selection, President and CEO Joseph T. Baptista Jr. described Mr. Hewitt as "an excellent leader with proven executive experience. His past responsibilities working for community-based banks will complement the history of our company as well as our personalized approach to customer service, and commitment to the communities we serve. Mr. Hewitt began his financial career at Society Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio, rising to Vice President of Corporate Financial Planning. From 1987 through 1989, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Society Bank of Dayton, Ohio - a $1.8 billion subsidiary of Society Corporation. From 1990 to 1992 Mr. Hewitt was named Vice President and Director of Corporate Planning and Analysis at Huntington Bancshares Inc. in Columbus Ohio where he was responsible for managing the annual and strategic planning processes and the management reporting function for this multi-state financial services company. In 1992 he became the Regional Chief Financial Officer for Huntington's Greater Cincinnati region. In 2000, Hewitt was appointed the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for BankNewport where he was responsible for all finance, treasury and loan review functions, including its insurance agency and mutual holding company.
