Wrentham videotapes closed selectmen sessions
Top Headlines Fellow selectmen have mixed feelings on the change. "I am completely behind the idea of recording executive sessions so there can be no confusion down the road," board Chairman Bob Cohen said. "It is just a good idea. It requires executive sessions to be very disciplined and focused, which is important. The presumption is all the business selectmen do is public record. "People aren't always going to like what happens in executive sessions and may institute legal action," Cohen added. "Without a videotape record, both sides are free to characterize what happened as both see fit." Other board members aren't so supportive. "I think it will inhibit some discussion," Edward Goddard said. I don't think it is necessary. I think you can take minutes that are sufficient and meet the board's legal requirements. "I think the board has a lot more pressing issues to deal with than that, and are not dealing with them." Sign up for town meeting The town clerk's office will hold a voter registration at town hall Friday, Oct. 30 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the Nov. 9 special town meeting.
