Susan M. (Lapierre) Travis, 62
SANDWICH - Susan M. (Lapierre) Travis, 68, of Sandwich and formerly of Rehoboth, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009 unexpectedly in Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of former Massachusetts State Representative, 4th Bristol District, Hon. Philip Travis, for the past 46 years.
Born in Nashua, N.H., a daughter of the late Ovide A. and Irene B. (Gariepy) Lapierre, she lived in Fall River during her youth, and Rehoboth for 40 years, moving to Sandwich 18 months ago.
In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Travis was a medical laboratory technologist for over 40 years, having worked for Manet Health Centers in Quincy, Union Health Center in Fall River and the former Somerset-Swansea Medical Center.
She was a graduate of Joseph Case High School, Class of 1959, attended Southeastern Massachusetts University, studied medical laboratory technology at St. Anne's Hospital and Brown University, and interned at Boston City Hospital, with a concentration on cancer cell analysis. She was currently a French language student at Cape Cod Community College.
She was a Rehoboth Antiquarian - dedicated to keeping history alive, was a former director of the Carpenter Museum and Goff Memorial Hall, and later a trustee and also held an antique dealers license. Dedicated to her French heritage, she was a member of Je Me Souviens American French Genealogical Society in Pawtucket.
Tenacious in all that she loved, reading was her passion; she enjoyed traveling with her husband, crossword puzzles and bird watching. Her ancestry was French Canadian and Native American, and she was an honorary member of the Seakonke Wampanoag Nation. In addition, Mrs. Travis was a den leader for a Rehoboth Boy Scout Troop and a Brownie Troop Leader.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons: Luke P. Travis and his wife Debra J. of Plainville, Mass., and Matthew A. Travis and his wife Amber M. of Eugene, Ore.; a daughter, Amy F. Pasley and her husband Richard P. of Concord, Mass.; grandchildren: Sarah, Ian, Gillian, Rebecca, Jewel and Scarlett; sisters: Jocelyn M. Champlain of Tiverton, R.I., and Valerie R. Stout and Charlotte M. Perry, both of Swansea; a brother, Guy Lapierre of Dodgeville, Wisc.; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road (North of Route 6 intersection) Swansea.
Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Marion A. Caraher, 70
FOXBORO - Marion A. Caraher, 70, of North Carol Annon Court, Foxboro, a loving mother, grandmother and aunt, passed peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009 at Caritas-Norwood Hospital in Norwood. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Caraher, who passed 14 years ago.
Born Marion A. Ginivan in Stoneham on Feb. 23, 1939, Marion was a daughter of the late William and Thelma (McGillicutty) Ginivan. She was raised and educated in the Attleboro area.
Years ago Marion was employed at Leavens Manufacturing Company in Attleboro.
After to moving to Twin Mountain, N.H. in 1986, Marion was employed as a housekeeper for a decade at the Mount Washington Inn in Bretton Woods, N.H.
Following the passing of her husband, Marion settled in Foxboro where she resided the past 13 years.
She was an active member of the Foxboro Senior Center and an avid golfer. Marion also enjoyed crocheting, solving crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and friends.
Marion is survived by her beloved children: Christopher W. Cronin and his wife Ellen of Foxboro and Beth Ann McDonald and her husband Michael of Mashpee, Mass.; six loving grandchildren: Ian Cronin, Noah Cronin, Dillon Cronin, Ryan McDonald, Michael McDonald Jr. and Matthew McDonald; and many nieces and nephews. She was the beloved sister of the late Dianne Winn.
At the request of the family, all funeral services are private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.

Elvina B. Sousa, 72
ATTLEBORO - Elvina B. Sousa, 72, of Rome Boulevard, Attleboro, a loving mother, grandmother and sister, passed peacefully on Friday, Oct. 9, 2009 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Jaime R. Sousa, who passed 26 years ago.
Born Elvina B. Costa on Oct. 15, 1936 in Ribeira Grande, Azores, Elvina was the daughter of the late Arturo B. and Maria A. (Borge) Costa. The Costa family settled in Attleboro in March of 1977.
Elvina was employed as a jewelry worker for over 20 years at the former Swank of Attleboro, retiring at the age of 62.
A homemaker and communicant of Holy Ghost Church in Attleboro, Elvina enjoyed cooking, gardening and family gatherings. She will be remembered by all as a loving and wonderful mother, grandmother and sister.
Elvina is survived by her five beloved children: Maria M. Silva and her husband Manuel of Norton, Lucia S. Reis of Attleboro, Manuel F. Sousa and his wife Linda of Rehoboth, and Antonio C. Sousa and Luisa C. Sousa, both of Attleboro; a sister, Conceucao Costa Sousa of Pawtucket; two brothers: Jose B. Costa of Tampa, Fla. and Pedro B. Costa in Canada; six grandchildren: Jeremy L. Silva, Stephanie A. Reis, James S. Reis, Chrystal E. Sousa, Brittany M. Sousa and Ian M. Sousa; and many nieces and nephews. She was the beloved sister of the late Manuel B. Costa.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, Oct. 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro.
A funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 9 a.m. from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, 71 Linden St., Attleboro. Mrs. Sousa will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Jaime in St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Attleboro.
Following committal services at St. John's Cemetery, an invitation is extended by the Sousa family for all to return to Holy Ghost Church Hall, lower level of Holy Ghost Church, for a continued time of friendship and fellowship.

Robyn E. Feeley, 54
MANSFIELD - After a long and courageous battle, Robyn E. Feeley, 54, died on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009 at her home in Mansfield, surrounded by the comfort of her family. A devoted wife, loving mother, friend and life enthusiast, Robyn has left an indelible mark on the lives of all she has touched.
Robyn was born in Newbern, N.C. on Feb. 13, 1955, the only daughter of the late Robert and Harriet (Webber) Eastwood. She was a graduate of North Kingston High School in Rhode Island, Class of 1973, and went on to earn her bachelor of arts degree at the University of Rhode Island, where she was an active member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.
Always the consummate professional, Robyn excelled with GlaxoSmithKline where she was employed as a pharmaceutical sales representative for the past 11 years. In her pursuit of all things interesting, Robyn freelanced as a licensed real estate sales person, and for a number of years she coordinated the after school program at the Robinson School in Mansfield.
Late in life Robyn shifted her attention to raising awareness for the illness with which she was afflicted and became an active volunteer with Ovations For The Cure, for the fight against ovarian cancer.
Robyn was known to her friends and family as a passionate cook and pastry chef while maintaining a discerning eye for home decor. She was a sucker for a good sunset on the beach and adored spending time at her family summer home in Humarock.
Robyn is survived by her beloved husband, Richard J. Feeley, her adoring sons Ryan Feeley of Mansfield and Justin Macione and his wife Laura of South Boston, and her lifelong friend and former husband Joseph Macione of Jacksonville, Fla.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, Oct. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St., Foxboro.
A funeral will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m., followed by an interment service at Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxboro.
