MANSFIELD - Richard Samuel Jacobson of Mansfield and Pompano Beach, FL, formerly of South Boston, died on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009.

Beloved husband of the late Elaine (Osborne) Jacobson. Devoted father of Joyce E. Barrett Cox and her husband Edward Cox of Mansfield. Loving grandfather of Stephanie E. Barrett of Brighton. Dear brother of Anna Merrington of South Hadley and the late Lillian Stanger, William Jacobson and Ella Warsaw.

Services will be held at the Bigelow Chapel at Mount Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mount Auburn St., Cambridge on Friday, Oct. 16 at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.A memorial luncheon in memory of Richard S. Jacobson will be held following the service at the Regattabar at the Charles Hotel, 1 Bennett St., Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Dorothy 'Dot' May Randall, 91

YORKVILLE, Ill. - Dorothy "Dot" May (Stanhope) Randall, of Yorkville, Illinois, previously of Plainville and Foxboro, Massachusetts passed away in Yorkville, IL on Oct. 7, 2009 at the age of 91.

The daughter of the late Bailey and May Belle (Gould) Stanhope, she was born in Foxboro, MA in 1918 and was a graduate of Foxboro High School, Class of 1936. She was the devoted wife of 60 years to the late Capt. Charles A. Randall, retired Foxboro firefighter, who passed away in 1998.

She was the loving mother of Patricia A. (Randall) Spinney and her husband Michael of North Attleboro, MA and Sheriff Richard A. Randall and his wife Myrla of Yorkville, IL.

She was the devoted grandmother of Christina (Spinney) and Brian Andrade of North Attleboro, Denise (Spinney) and Manuel Mendonca of Tiverton, RI, Jennifer Spinney of Pittsburgh, PA, Ryan and Dawn Randall, Kara (Randall) and Jason Larson and Mark Randall, all of Illinois. Cherished great-grandmother of Bethany Spinney, Derrick Randall, Zachary Mendonca, Nicole Andrade, Nicholas Charles Larson and Thomas Randall Larson.

Predeceased by her sisters, Florence (Stanhope) Nelson, Ruth (Stanhope) Freeman and Mildred (Stanhope) Roberts.

Survived by many nieces and nephews.

She had been an employee of the Doolittle Home, Foxboro, MA upon her retirement.

A celebration of life was held October 12, 2009 at Cross Lutheran Church, Yorkville, IL. Graveside services and burial will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Rockhill Cemetery, Foxboro, MA with the Rev. William Dudley of Union Church of South Foxboro officiating.
