Work 'n' serve Expo

at Bridgewater State On Wednesday, the Office of Career Services, Community Service Center and the Center for Sustainability at Bridgewater State College will sponsor a "Work 'N Serve Expo" which will include roughly 40 organizations recruiting for full-time professional positions, internships and community service/volunteer opportunities. Look Good program

offered in Mansfield

Shields Radiation Oncology Center in Mansfield will host the American Cancer Society's "Look Good . . . Feel Better" program on Oct. 26, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The free program teaches cancer patients hands-on cosmetic techniques to help them cope with appearance-related side effects from chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Wig care, scarf and hat use, skin care and nail care will all be discussed, and all participants will receive a free makeup kit. Registration is required. Call Kathy or Abigail at 508-261-2000.

Businesses aid charities

Three Providence Bruins players will be at Audrey's Restaurant in the Johnson & Wales Inn at 213 Taunton Ave., Seekonk, on Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for autograph signings, discounted Providence Bruins' tickets and more. Proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

During October, Plimoth Plantation, along with museum-volunteer and professional freelance photographer, Al Solomon, will be offering families of serving soldiers a free opportunity to capture a moment in time for their loved ones to enjoy through the "Portraits for Soldiers" family portrait program. Mass Premier Courts will hold its second annual food pantry drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 23 at its Foxboro facility. Bring in a food donation and children can enter the play area for free. The O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home in Taunton has started its annual holiday food drive to benefit the Coyle and Cassidy Food Pantry. Items, including non-perishable foods and supermarket gift certificates, will be collected through Christmas with drop-off times, Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon. All dressbarn stores will offer Biscuit, a stuffed plush dog for $5 with $2 going to the American Cancer Society, through Oct. 31. Recycling day among United Chamber events

The chamber and the City of Attleboro are co-sponsoring an unwanted computer and office equipment disposal day which will include free lamp recycling. Open to Attleboro businesses, the event will be held Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. to noon at Poncin-Hewitt Field parking lot. Any kind of office equipment is eligible for disposal and various types of bulbs that contain mercury commonly used by businesses are eligible. Ready for Halloween?

The North Attleboro Park and Recreation Department and the Downtown Associates of North Attleboro will bring Halloween to Veterans Park on South Washington Street in front of town hall on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. The event was postponed from today due to the forecast of rain all day.
