An obituaries was published Saturday, Oct. 17, for Peter Barton Flynn, formerly of Norton.

SARASOTA, Fla. - Peter Barton Flynn, 66, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Norton, Mass., died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 at Tidewell Hospice House, Sarasota, Fla.

He was born in Northampton, Mass., and was the son of the late Stanley J. Flynn and Helen (Bignell) Flynn.

He grew up in Norton and was a graduate of Norton High School.

He was self-employed as a toolmaker for 30 years. He was a member of St. James Masonic Lodge in Mansfield, Mass.

Peter had many interests and enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, and was an avid reader.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Beverly (Pimental) Flynn; his sisters, Susan (Flynn) Reed and her husband Robert of Attleboro, and Jane Flynn of Norton; and a brother, Thomas "TJ" Flynn of Norton.

Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home, Sarasota, was in charge of arrangements.
