Cronins celebrate 40th wedding anniversary

Michael and Marilyn (Maynard) Cronin are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary today, May 17. The Cronins married in 1969.

Michael, an Attleboro native, graduated from Attleboro High School and is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked as a parts manager for Schmidt Equipment in Swansea for over 20 years before retiring in May 2008.

Attleboro-native Marilyn graduated from Attleboro High School and the Addison Gilbert Hospital School of Nursing in Gloucester. She has been a licensed practical nurse at Sturdy Memorial Hospital for over 30 years and is very much looking forward to retiring this October.

The couple has two daughters; Lynn Carpeno, 38, of Norton and Jennifer Prescott, 34, of Foxboro. The Cronin's grandchildren, who call them Memere and Buppa, are Buddy Sears, 13; Gabrielle Carpeno, 9; Cameron Prescott, 6; and Tyler Prescott, 3.

The Cronins enjoy traveling, especially on cruises, which they do annually. They've visited the Panama Canal twice, Hawaii twice, the Caribbean several times, and Alaska. Being avid NASCAR fans, the couple also travels to Las Vegas every February and March for race weekend.
