MANSFIELD - If you are a Catholic who strives to do more for your parish or a Catholic who would just like to learn more about some of the everyday aspects of Catholic life, the Diocese of Fall River might have just the thing for you.
On Saturday, Nov. 7, the Office of Faith Formation, which serves the 90 parishes in the Diocese of Fall River, will hold a Ministry Convention at the Holiday Inn in Mansfield.
The program will begin at 8 a.m. with registration, a viewing of exhibits and coffee, and end at 3:45 p.m. with the conclusion of the second of two workshop sessions to be held during the event, each of which offers six programs from which for attendees may choose.
Highlights of the event include Mass from 9 to 10 a.m. to be led by Bishop George Coleman and the keynote address to be given from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. by the Rev. Kenneth Paulli.
Paulli is a Franciscan priest of the Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus. He lives and works at Sienna College in Albany (Londonville), N.Y., where he serves as chief of staff for the president's cabinet and as a professor of education.
In addition to administration, teaching, research and writing for nearly 15 years, Paulli has also given numerous parish mission both in the United States and Canada, as well as retreats to both men and women in religious communities, and he shares his gifts of presiding and preaching on a regular basis with the people of St. Pius X Parish in Londonville, N.Y.
Among the 12 workshops to be held, some will be held by community and religious leaders who might be a bit more recognizable to area residents, however, such as Joanne Pratt of St. Mary's Church in Mansfield and Carla Tirell, a longtime peer ministry leader at Bishop Feehan High School.
