Horror, thrills, camp at Foxboro Orpheum
FOXBORO - The Orpheum Theatre is all about movie horror, thrills and campy humor this weekend.
The 2009 Killer Film Fest is taking place Friday through Sunday, Nov. 6-8, at the old movie house on Foxboro Common.
It features five films including "Roid Rage" from Wickid Pissa Films, the world premiere of "Kill Everyone," a lineup of short films, film trailers, and a live performance by the local metal band Kreagen. Watch the trailer and see more at http://killerfilmfest.com/films/roid.html
Tickets are $10 and you can buy them directly from me by emailing mitchmitchell24@hotmail.com. Festival times are 6 p.m. Friday, 5:30 p.m. Saturday, and 6 p.m. Sunday.
Killer Film Fest was founded by local film producer Michael Vallier II and local film director Richard Tobin Jr. They say they would like to eventually make it a competitive festival accepting submissions nationally with judging and awards and screenings in many New England locations. The goal for 2010 is to have a three- to four-day fest in Boston and Providence.
In addition to all the killing, the Orpheum is presenting "Dr Horrible's Sing-along Blog" at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7. The film will be shadow cast by RKO Army.
The movie stars Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion. It's about an aspiring supervillain with his own video blog who is attempting to join the prestigious Evil League of Evil, but his plans are usually foiled by the egotistical superhero Captain Hammer.
Tickets are $15. To purchase tickets call 508-543 (ARTS) 2787 or visit www.orpheum.org. |
