Top Headlines MANSFIELD - The Council on Aging for Mansfield has released several upcoming events for seniors. For more information about any of these events, call 508-261-7368. Sign up for a podiatrist's visit on Nov. 10, 17, 24 and Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. The Mansfield Department of Public Works will pick up up to 6 bags of leaves for seniors on Nov. 13, 20 and Dec. 4. Leaves must be in biodegradable yard waste bags. Call 508-261-7368 by noon on the prior Thursday for a reservation.The COA will host a Medicare workshop on Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is required. A blood pressure screening will be held on Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. Mansfield public schools will host a leaf raking program on Nov. 11 with a rain date of Nov. 14. First priority is given to households who have not participated in years past, but households that have can call to be placed on a waiting list. Contact Louise at 508-261-7368 to be placed on either list. Join in at a CVNA wellness luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 18. The discussion will be on maintaining intimacy. The Mansfield TRIAD will meet on Nov. 18 at 1:30 p.m. The Mansfield Red Hatters will meet on Nov. 20 at 1:30 p.m. Enjoy music at 10:30 on Nov. 24 before the BESI Thanksgiving lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. Suggested donation $2 and seating is limited. The coin club will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 25. Seniors are invited to help decorate the COA Christmas tree on Dec. 1 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. The Friends of the Drop-in Center will host a holiday gala at the center on Dec. 11 at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $6 for members, $10 for non-members, which includes a buffet and entertainment. COA offers personalized medical escorts to Mansfield seniors Monday through friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Transportation available for travel to the greater Norwood, Taunton, Brockton and Attleboro areas. Round trip fares are $5 for Mansfield and $10 for longer distances. At least 5 business days notice is required in advance. Confidential debt management services are now available at the COA through American Credit Counseling on the second Tuesday of each month. Call the center to schedule an appointment. Nurse available at Town Hall MANSFIELD - The Public Health Nurse is available on the third Wednesday of every month from 3 to 4 p.m. at Mansfield Town Hall's second-floor meeting room. The Public Health Nurse will be available for blood pressure and blood sugars on a walk-in basis, and for immunizations by appointment only.
