Pray for children, schools in Norfolk

NORFOLK - Join women around the world on Saturday, Nov. 14 for "Arise! Cry Out!," a day of prayer for children and schools. The local host site is Emmanuel Baptist Church at 63 Rockwood Road. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Online preregistration is requested to assist with planning and there is no charge to attend. Women from teenagers on up are invited.

Norfolk resumes passport services
NORFOLK - The town clerk's office has resumed passport processing services.

The service will only be available by appointment, as it was in the past, but the town clerk expects to be able to accommodate most requests within a reasonable time frame.

Call the office at 508-528-1400 to review the requirements and set up an appointment.

Join in history book discussion group


NORFOLK - A history book discussion group is being held at Norfolk Public Library.

Facilitated by Norfolk resident Chris Cleverdon, meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of each month in the library lounge.



Join world affairs discussion group


NORFOLK - Are you concerned about global issues such as the Iraq war, trade with China, the U.S. economy and climate change?

A world affairs discussion group will meet at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at Norfolk Public Library. The program is sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association (FPA), which provides background briefings and other nonpartisan information prepared by recognized leaders and scholars in regional and international affairs.

KP Class of 1961 plans 50th reunion


WRENTHAM - The King Philip Regional High School of 1961 is working on plans for its 50th reunion.

Tentative plans are for a three day weekend reunion from April 29-May 1, 2011.

Efforts are under way to locate classmates and formulate additional plans.
